Enjoy your cars while you can! don't save them for the next owner. The end is near! I will be daily driving my 1M until they rip the key out of my grip and impound it! Lol

Looks like there may be a stay of execution for ICE vehicles running on 'green' fuels. The Italians are concerned about their supercar manufacturers.

I’m all for EV’s ( I have 2) but I don’t see it by the target date. Going from one extreme to another is pretty far fetched but a commendable goal nonetheless.

The problem with this is that politicians have jumped on a single solution and aren't bright enough to understand that the world's infrastructure is designed for internal combustion engines and the design has been around and perfected since the 1800s. We have 150k fueling stations all over major interstate travel routes in the US. All of those fueling stations have pumps and underground storage tanks that can be converted if necessary as opposed to demolished and have the EPA remediate. There's hundreds of billions of dollars of manufacturing for their production that would need to be destroyed/retooled/redesigned. There are alternative ways to move forward which includes EV (Formula 1) but politicians are some of the dumbest fuckers in the world and yet most folks trust them for security and other mind boggling things.

Cali and NYC already said no new gas car sales by 2035 but obviously there will still be gas cars on the road.
I have a Tesla so I’m ok with it. As long as they let us keep our beloved ICE car for the weekend. Even if we get taxed or put a yearly mileage restriction on them. But for daily use, I can’t see myself ever going back to gas cars. EV is perfect for the commute. IMHO. |

I don't picture our infrastructure or the car industry being ready for this, even if we have over 12 years to prepare. And of course for those people requiring a longer range, or the ability to tow equipment, or those with low income the ICE ban is going to be a huge problem.

I shift gears and rip around corners on a daily basis, so the thought of never being able to do that again angers me. There's no EV on the market [YET] which provides the level of theatre than many ICE cars do. Especially when enthusiast cars only make up a miniscule percentage of new car sales. They aren't doing shit to the environment.

You only have 1 car now? There are more people than enthusiasts that pick EV over ICE and that's their only car. I have multiple cars and an EV is in my fleet, and my DD. No one is arguing the emotional attachment to ICE cars. We're talking about a point A to B type of car. I would say 97% of all car buyers think of cars as appliances. Which means zero care in the world for them. You buy, use, dispose, and get another one. That's the life cycle of a typical car buyer. We represent a small percentage. So if you're arguing can EV replace ICE in a emotional way? I would say no. If you're arguing that not buying an EV will slow down this process? I say you're going to lose that battle. Not with me, but in general. |

I am planning on buying an ele vehicle to replace both my F80 and Frontier, with one each. You might as well assimilate as it will happen in the next few years. I can't see the US being on the forefront of this change but a lot of money will be spent on infrastructure in the near future. Unless someone steals it...

Well this is gonna suck. If it actually does in fact happen in the EU, it will definitely happen here.
