Drivers Side Door Pin Rattle at Highway Speeds

Anyone experiencing the annoying locked drivers side pin and assembly rattle only on highway at 55 plus MPH?

I figured out how to silence the rattle with a little bit of soft velcro.

However, in doing so, I may have cracked a tiny piece of the door lock bezel cover underside clip.

I would appreciate help if someone can help me identify the part number for this replaceable piece.

See pictures.

Thanks!

I think u push door pin not far enough. Door pins of my car when it locked is very flat, not emergent like that. U should buy 'M' door pins around 50$ to replace it

The door pins are unlocked. No issues with that. I am talking the actual bezel surround cover. Not the pin itself. Picture two shows where it is raised towards the windows side. Looking to replace the bezel as one clip is damaged under.

Ordered, hopefully it solves my problem.

Other BMWs in the past have had the same issue and that's how I stumbled on a fix, except the bezel we have is made differently.

I had the same problem on my wife’s 2015 435 and found an easy fix

First, CAREFULLY pry up the bezel from the pin

Then wrap about an inch of black electrical tape around the base of the pin.

Should solve the problem

Just curious, why does BMW still use these types of locks?

I haven't had these on any of my cars, trucks or SUVs in many, many years.

Update: I removed the trim around the lock pin and used the soft side of velcro around the inside. The rattle is completely gone! Highly recommend. There are many youtube videos on this.

Might be a German government requirement.

Highly unlikely. Every car sold in Germany, in fact the EU would then have to have them. Several other German marques don’t have door pins.

Had the same issue. Rattled at any speed though. I let the dealership deal with it. So far so good.
