255/225 or 265/235?

Going to be running 19x8.5ET35 in the front and 19X9.5ET40 in the rear with about a 1 inch drop on my 2017 f32

Anyone have any opinion on which tire size combination will be better?

235/40/19+265/35/19

no stretch, more grip, reduced fenderwell gap, more impact protection and better ride

During normal driving 235/265 will be no issue with xdrive but what if you push the car to the limit, fast cornering, v-max around 300km/h?

My alloys are the same and I ran the old 225/255 when I first got them and didn't like the stretch and lack of tyre protection. Swapped to 235/265 and they look much better. I also ended up going up a profile size though to reduce noise and chance of bending them on a pot hole.

I think 265/35 and 235/40 is as high as i'd go profile wise. Apparently overall diamater matters and going up a profile would be decently bigger than stock setup

245/40/19(26.7")=275/35/19(26.6") is the tallest combination you could do based on your +35 and +40 offset. the links below show an F36 with these sizes however the front offset is 2mm more aggressive and rear is 3mm less aggressive than what you have. he describes the front as having 1mm of clearance from rubbing the fenderwell liner at full lock. at +35/+40, 245/40 will have more clearance to the front liner but 275 rear will have less clearance, potentially closer to rub under compression.

245/40+275/35 being taller(heightened gearing), wider(rolling resistance), heavier will some slight performance impact. initial throttle tip-in and slightly increased steering effort are two of a few things that may be noticeable.

imo 235/40/19+265/35/19 is the best staggered tire size combination for F3/4 x-drives with aftermarket wheels that are un-lowered to modestly lowered. modest upsize, minimal problems.
