Figured I would start a waiting room for 23 MY individual paint orders to give us a better sense of timing. I see some believe individual orders are built in batches, not sure if that is true, but I have been looking for other individual orders in the build week threads and not finding much.

Sharing my timeline and build for reference...

3/27 – Dealer contacted/order placed
4/2 – Scheduled for production (112 wk18)
4/8 – Status reverted to Order Received

I originally ordered an M3 back in September 2021, but after they discontinued FDG on the M3 I sought out an M4.

7/9 – Production number received w/ status 102
8/3 - Moved to status 112
8/5 - Production begins (150)

Nice, the FDG is sick! Thought about switching to an M4 since it seemed production was moving quicker.

Hopefully BMW gets the first wave of Individual cars scheduled and produced quickly. I have carbon buckets on mine, which some say adds extra time...so we'll see.

They are still saying I'm 102 which is weird if they have a build week of 36? I was originally 112 and build week of 27 but updated to an individual color pushing me back to 102. This is my first individual order so 🤷🏽*♂️. I'm preparing myself that it is going to be delayed beyond that…

Same here, not sure what to expect.

I was under the impression 102 was for no production week but if they said it was tentative maybe they have visibility to an unconfirmed schedule? I may have to call and see what they say about mine.

Just ordered my MY23 M3 Competition X Drive yesterday. Details below. I figure i'm in for a long haul here as the dealer gets allocations in in dribs and drabs and they don't have one for my car yet.

My current order status is "047 - Spec. Released-no quota.

I would appreciate it if someone could walk me through the process of how orders get updated once in the system.

Hi! Nice spec, but heads up this thread is specifically for tracking orders with individual color requests, which take a bit longer.

To answer your question though M3 allocations seem to be a bit unpredictable but when you are next up in your dealers order bank and an allocation comes through they will assign one of the production slots to your order, in the system you will show as 111 "Order Received" and then to 112 "Scheduled for Production." Then you will move to 150 "Production Begins" which at that point everything is locked in and you will not be able to make any changes. There is a developer tool (search the forums if you need instructions) you can use to see the status number in your myBMW garage and also the production week, but you can also call the genius line.

If you haven't already, would find out how many people are ahead of you at your dealer. Good luck and welcome to months of agony in waiting

Maybe I'll be with your car if they try to link cars of the same color together. I was lucky enough to get a cancelled allocation in 112 for build week 31 which shifted to 102 when the San Marino Blue was submitted. Wouldn't mind week 36!

I placed my order on 6/08 - just got my production number two days ago (7/24).

Noticed my build was showing up as Frozen Pure Grey Metallic II and contacted the dealer to change to the Frozen Dark Grey I requested....came back today 6/26 with the unfortunate news that Frozen Dark Grey is no longer available for MY23.

Bummer on the DFG, but the purple on white combo will look awesome and be very rare, especially with the manual.
