Shudder at mid-speeds and slight throttle

Has anyone else experienced a slight delay and shudder/stutter feeling at initial throttle application? To me it feels like a clutch or something is engaging in the drivetrain -- sort of like the feeling you get in an old Prius when the gas motor engages with the drivetrain. Happens most often in the following situation:

- Sport Engine mode, D2 (around 5th/6th gear)
- 40-60 MPH
- Feel it when coasting with no throttle and then apply light throttle

Does not seem to change based on engine or weather temp (Weather in my area is moderate 60s-90s F)

I have not noticed this behavior in the 'default' drive settings or manual shift mode. It's pretty annoying because I enjoy the combo of sport throttle/D2 for daily driving, but it makes it difficult to drive smoothly.
