Hello bimmerheads

Pretty new to this whole process but very thankful this forum exists. I placed an order with a dealership in Phoenix last Saturday. My CA said (and showed on his computer) that I am 3rd in line for an allocation, and he expects my allocation to come through by October. Obviously I would prefer if it came sooner, but I am aware of the current state of things and am trying to be pragmatic.

Anyone from AZ who has placed an order in the past 2-3 months? There are 3 dealers in the PHX metro area, and 2 of the 3 have waitlists 20+ people deep. I went with Arrowhead BMW who had a 3 person M3 allocation waitlist.

I was hoping to find other people in AZ who can shed some light on their experience. The allocations that seemed to drop this past week for many dealers didn't seem to include my dealer, so I'm wondering if there is perhaps a different allocation timeline for Southwest US states.

Decided to go with a pretty minimal spec, but it will work perfectly for my needs. Spec is:

2023 BMW M3 6MT
Black Sapphire Metallic
19"/20" M Double-spoke black wheels
Fionoa Red/Black Full Merino Leather
Carbon Fiber Trim
Compound breaks w/ Red Calipers
Extended Shadowline Trim

This is the first car I've ever custom ordered, and my first BMW. Crossing my fingers so the car gods smile upon me and can provide an allocation this or next month!

Your best bet is to widen your search and add your name to multiple dealer waitlists. This way, you are not relying on a single dealer.

Definitely get your name on multiple lists, but be careful with Tucson. I have been #1 on the Tucson list since Christmas (approximately), with no movement. I find it hard to believe that they have received zero M3 allocations in that time, so they may be playing some games behind then scenes.

It took me 5 months to get an allocation with them. I think due to them being smaller volume, they just don't get as many. Who are you dealing with over there.

Yes, I placed an deposit with 2 different dealers down in phx. I placed an order for M3 comp with NScottsdale on early June and M4 base with Chapman on July 04. Fortunately, I just got an allocation 8/02 for M4 and it switched from 112 to 150 within couple days.. North Scottsdale had 20 plus waitlist for M3 so I was not very hopeful. Chapman was with M4 and they had 5 ppl on line and I believe I took the one that was backed out by person in front of me. Hopefully my experience helps with your time coping haha.

I didn't know they the were much smaller in volume than Chapman, North Scottsdale or Arrowhead, but the timing makes more sense now.

If any of you guys are looking for one, I had a 23 m3cx I backed out of at Chapman Chandler, already in transit. Sao paulo yellow, pretty loaded.

just called, the CA said that is his client's order and he checked and said its been paid for and it's still sold? He mentioned they have a brooklyn grey one that is already there unsold

I'm on the Arrowhead and Chapman list currently. Chapman CA told me their waitlist is like 20+ deep and gave me a 12-15 month ETA which crushed my soul. My CA at Arrowhead seems like a straight shooter and was about as transparent as I imagine a sales agent can be.

I'm willing to extend my search to any of the 4 corner states, just haven't given a call to anyone in CO, NM, or UT. Arrowhead CA told me to expect my allocation by October and all things considered, doesn't seem that bad compared to what I've been seeing on here (8+ month lead time)

For comp I believe that's correct. I went with the manual and was only required to put $2.5k down.

Yeah I was fine with it. Honestly I'd put a 7.5k+ deposit down if it gave me faster access to the car lol. That seems unlikely though so I'll just be patient and hope that my CA is trustworthy enough to let me know when an allocation slot comes through for me

I was working with David Nogales from Arrowhead and he seemed like a straight shooter. I ended up going somewhere else because of the large (at the time) deposit.

Arrowhead wanted either $5K or $7,500 non-refundable deposit; it was only $2K non-refundable at Tucson. These were deals at MSRP.

I placed an order for X7 @ Arrowhead on 7/25/22. My car went into production I think 08/02/22
I am from Tucson. I checked with Tucson dealer before going to Phoenix area. Tucson BMW DID NOT have any allocations and they couldn't tell when they would even get one.
On the other hand, North Scottsdale and Arrowhead had some allocations and I went with Arrowhead based on Production week (33 instead of 35 or 36 at North Scottsdale)
We put down 2.5K deposit (using credit card) and the price is MSRP.

Dennis was the SA we worked with @ Arrowhead.

Placed an order at Arrowhead for G80. Was told I'm 3rd on the waitlist, hoping for an allocation soon!
