Ios 16 breaks my x7 car play

Unable to connect. Says carplay unavailable or turned off. Betas worked fine but release doesn't…

Im on 07/2021.55

Anyone have similar issues?

What is "los 16"? If it's a head-banger grunge rock group, then the problem is entirely understandable (lol).

Latest O/S released today for iPhones. I ran the beta builds as well as the release candidate and have had zero issues with it connecting to CarPlay.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm not an iPhone user, or a consumer of anything Apple (yet I survive somehow - lol).

I have 07/2021.85 on a 2020 and no such issues with ios16. Maybe an upgrade from .55 to .85 might help?

I had an issue with my i-Drive 7 X5 after I updated to 16. So I ended up deleting the phone from the car and the car from the phone and re-connected them. All is fine so far.

how many phones are connected and what year is your car? We found on our previous X7 with Idrive 7 it couldn't handle more than one phone connected to it. (iphone)

Experiencing the same problem with my X7 and iOS 16 – CarPlay worked flawlessly during the beta, but now it's constantly showing as unavailable or off. Any insights or fixes you've discovered since posting this?

Delete phone pairing on both phone and vehicle, change name on phone itself in settings (i.e. LucaJones iPhone to LucaJones-iPhone), and setup with your BMW again from scratch.

This should resolve any potential software issues.
