Current X7 Software

Has anyone been able to go out of the 07/2021.55 software update to the March 2022 update using OTA (remotely, without dealer help)?

Also, we usually get a software update on July of each year, has anyone heard any news about the July 2022?

Usually the OTA is always one version older than the most recent one, is that also what you've all experienced too? If so, that can justify the reason that most owners are stuck on the 07/2021.55 version until the March 2022 becomes the 2nd newest one which is only possible when the 7/2022 becomes available.

Note: I know there is a TSB for vehicles that won't do OTA, but that is off-topic. Am only referring to those who have no issues and have been able to get the 3/2022 remotely. If so, please report which country you got the OTA from and your X7 model year.

I did the TSB and had the Nov 2021 software update installed in February. And no, I have not received the latest software (one release behind). In July/Aug - we should have received the March 2022 software. Not a lot of chatter anyone getting it. My BMW app also shows the wrong version than what is on the car...

I'm on 07/2021.20 which was installed by the dealer in 08/2021 to fix an issue with the oil level sensor. No OTA updates since then. My app also was showing wrong version. It was showing 11/2020.50 installed. Got a new BMW app updated on my phone today, now it doesn't show any version info.

I've reached out to connected drive support, BMW Genius (corporate and dealer), and Dealer service advisor. They all point the finger at each other and tell me to talk to another group. No body knows what's going on.

What is the Nov 2021 update number? I thought there was only the 07/2021.55 July update and then followed my March 2022.

There are 3 updates a year, March, July and November. The first two number is the month, the next 4 the year, and the last 2 is release #.

So November update would be 11/2021.XX where XX is the release # and there could be multiple different releases per each major update.

You’re right. It ends with .85 and my OP referenced the wrong one.
I still wonder if anyone got his software update remotely/ OTA to anything newer than 07/2021.85

We had an OTA update to 03/2022.65 about 2 months ago. We picked up the car in Feb 2022 and have not been in for service since delivery.
