Gentlemen, those that have the new 2023 4.0, you please take a glance at the front bumper inlets for the oil coolers. My drivers side intake has a plastic insert blocking air coming in. Is this supposed to be open to air coming through or is yours drivers side blocked like mine? ( Im thinking maybe they forgot to pull it out upon recieving it)

Normal as in same on 2019-2022 X7 40i has the same covering on that side.

Mine driver side has plastic insert as well. I brought that up when picking up the car. I was told there is a extended radiator on the passenger side so needs intake. The otherside has nothing.

Ditto above…the vent is opened or closed depending on how the vehicle is optioned:

See #6 & #7 in diagram below…and if you go to the part database website and scroll down to the part nbrs…you’ll see the option codes listed for the open or closed vent:

Can anyone with a 2023 X7 confirm that the passenger side air vent has a radiator behind the vent as shown in my picture below or is the vent opening covered?

Same - 23 X7 M60i and passenger side vent in that area is open and driver side has a plastic insert in it.

I would expect this to be the case on the 60i since it's a V8 engine. My question is more directed towards those who got a 40i with the inline 6 cylinder engine. There was no transmission cooler on the later 2020 model 40i's unless you ordered the towing package. The 2019 and early 2020 model year 40i's came standard with the transmission cooler on the passenger side.
