LCI M Performance Steering Wheel Trim

I’m looking for the the Carbon/leather M Performance Steering wheel for a LCI car, I’ve found one part number which if for DAP equipped vehicles, none DAP don’t appear to be listed.

DAP equipped 32302471439

I’ve found a part number for none DAP but it doesn’t say it’s for the LCI, 32302459671 it looks identical the the LCI DAP version albeit it dosen’t have the notches above the buttons.

Airbag, steering wheel pre LCI and LCI carry the same part numbers, buttons look the same so in theory it should fit, anyone with a none DAP LCI tried it?

2020 pre LCI steering wheel

Pre LCI trim https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/produ...2-30-2-459-671

LCI trim (DAP) https://www.schmiedmann.com/es/produ...2-30-2-471-439

Looking at the two above the fixings look identical

Hi,

I purchased the same one and installed it. I don't know why BMW doesn't offer this option on our cars...anyway, here below is a link. You got the right product number.

doesnt matter if its LCI or not.

32302459671 is the correct part number for heated steering wheel without DAP for LCI cars.

Thanks, but that’s for a DAP equipped vehicle by the looks of it.

If you want to be absolutely sure you’re ordering the correct part for your car, go to your local main dealer parts counter. They will search for parts on the cars chassis number and their system will only suggest parts for your car. Ask them to search for wheel trims and get the correct part number that way. That’s what I did. I then looked the part up online there and then and showed the parts guy the cheaper prices online and he did me a deal. That way you know your getting the right part for your particular car.

I have done that, and only the DAP version is specifically listed for the LCI, so it’s left to me to see if there’s a solution, and looking at 32302459671 I’m struggling to identify why that would not fit the LCI also.

They won’t let me order it on the basis that if it doesn’t fit they accept the return.

That’s odd that a main dealer won’t order for you to take a look at. Mine said there was no pressure to buy if I didn’t like it.

I would think if you order through the main dealer using your chassis number then it’s on them if they supply a part that doesn’t fit. If the system is showing that part number for your car then I would suggest it is the correct part.

The trim you need would be the same for a NON DAP car. Just make sure it's for a 2020+ with iDrive 7. If you get a iDrive 6 one it will have different steering wheel button cutout

Thanks, yes picked on that need to make sure it’s 2020+, 32302459671 seems to be the right number, just awaiting on the price from my dealer, regards they won’t accept a return so it’s at my risk.

It should be the carbon leather version of this.

Hi JD, I was somewhat struggling on this one too, there are non DAP M Performance Parts Carbon trim available for this (w/o notches) , but I did not like the finer carbon fibre weave, it did not match the CF on the dash which is coarser. What appears to work, and needs verifying with BMW is the non DAP , with Heated Steering Wheel button, for the new G80 / G82 M3 & M4s, also has the coarser cf weave, this also matches the weave on the G80 / G82 CF paddles

Fitment should be identical, a straight swap

Thanks, I thought the G80/2 was different. Possibly worth looking in that also.

Edit: From what I can see the G80/2 are different, they appear to be a two piece item, also fixing points at the rear appear different.

1. I don't know why this thread is still on going. there is NO difference between the MY21' pre-lci and the lci steering without DAP... the original part number "32302459671" is the correct part number. this part is also shared with the 5er, X5, 8er, etc.

2. the G8x trim will NOT fit at all. the steering wheels are different.

Just a follow up, and I dont recommend. But you CAN code out the need for DAP steering wheel touch alerts, so you can get any wheel you want and maintain DAP. Like I said, I do not recommend this route as it leads to idiots doing idiot things.

by coding only? I thought a certain "emulator/module" was needed in order to maintain DAP without touching the steering wheel.

so what you're saying is that hypothetically, with coding, I can enable DAP "Assist Plus" on highway speeds above 40mph without ever having to touch the steering wheel? and this wouldn't effect any other assist features (like Parking Assist or Reverse backup)? I'm assuming more advanced coding is needed and it can't be done via bimmercode or something?

because THIS idiot wants to experience some idiot things... as long as its reversible too.

oh Ive already seen that. ive actually gone to bmcoding before for coding due to headlight swap and they were very capable. I just assumed it was the emulator install on steering wheel and not coding. haven't asked them about it yet.
