Are you a poser?
Be honest.
A) Do you think like this person? B) In the middle? C) Exact opposite? I have read some stuffy comments on here but this almost makes me embarrassed and want to puke. If your BMW cost less than $50,000 you are a loser/poser and must terminate your membership immediately. Quote: The number one thing that stood out to me was what they think it will cost!!! They estimate that the car will take a HUGE,GIGANTIC jump in price and start at 43,000 Euro, or $54k. WOW!! That will surely outprice many people, including me. By the time options are put on the car it could be well over $60k. I think it will be a huge mistake to start the car at a price any higher than 45k ************************************************** ******** Below is the reply to the above comment. This made me . if you have to ask, you can't afford... IMO BMW shouldn't offer anything cheaper than $50k so that people would stop buying base models and stop acting like they can hang with the people that can afford the lifestyle and the cars...

i agree, for the most part.
sure its annoying for people at the "bottom" to buy an entry level, base model and expect to fit in. but what about thinking about it like this- buying a name brand for its quality and reliability? |

If you are wanting member names I will hold off. It just rubbed me wrong. My 335 was only 47K. I feel like such a loser....
Of the 5 BMW's I have had the first and least expensive..320i, is still my favorite. |

That is just ridiculous, cause a lot of people buy just the base bmw to save on weight & don't need all the extra bells & whistles. Some buy because their other car is loaded & want a base car to beat on at the track or something.

this chick took it to the next level. She had a 325i, pulls up next to me at the light and says "we have the same car" with a smile on her face. Light turns green and I ripped her a new hole. This other guy says 'nice car, what is that a ms 3" haha I'm like m3 he's like yeah yeah that's the one. Dude combined audi and bmw.

These guys talk like as if they drive Ferrari's or RR's. 50k car is driven usually by Middle Upper class. It does not represent the "Bourgeoisie" in anyway. I don't see where these guys get their sense of pride from. Specially when I check some polls where they ask how many % of your yearly salary is spent buying a new car. There is quite a few people who put 90-100%. So a price on a car doesn't represent anything. You can't judge someone by the car they are driving. What are you going to say to a guy who makes millions but drives a Corolla simply because he doesn't give a shit about his method of transportation? You are going to call him poor? certainly not. So why would you call someone who filled his room with toy models of bmws and went to the bank to get a loan in order to afford a 3 series a "poser"? Not even income can group people together in terms of lifestyle. Some people are materialistic, some are not that guy who said that quote must be fucking retarded.

And I actually thought that most people in this forum bought their cars for the driving experience and not for the "I'm better than you 'cause I drive a BMW" factor. I guess then that most people with 1/3-series cars are posers then. I rather spend extra money on after-market performance upgrades than overpriced "convenience" options that I would rarely use (i.e., heated sets in Texas). |
