beautiful English expressions

Just a rando thread but I sometimes have this expression pop in my head and I admire how euphemistic or how much it makes it sound better than its reality. There are other stuff like one wouldn't say "I would walk 1,000kms for you" but use *miles* instead since it sounds more romantic, but I really like this one:

'Wipe the sleep from your eyes' sounds way better than 'get that eye gunk crap from your face!!!' lol. Whoever penned that deserves a Pulitzer.

Can you think of other similar phrases?

Makes me think of this song where they sing "but I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more."

^Yup, was thinking of that song.

EDIT:
I'm always curious whenever I see comments are disabled for YT videos...did they do something controversial? So weird.

I dunno if it follows the theme of the OP but I'll take it.

On a Valentine's card, "Be Mine" sounds a lot better than "I wanna own your ass."

Powder your nose instead of go to the toilet.

Time of the month instead of menstruating.

Precocious instead of badly behaved.

Shake the dew off my lilly.

Drop the kids off at the pool.

I sense a theme here.

Part of my engineering team is in the UK and while I dont know that I've noted "beautiful" expressions I've definitely heard some funny or interesting ones.

"It's all gone pear shaped" is a good one.
"It's a dog's dinner" is another.

Both used to note something (a project in our case) that's "gone off the rails" as we would say.

Heard a great one the other day from our French sales guy. It was his version of "does a bear shit in the woods?" Cant recall the exact phrase but it was something like "Does a German always bring his sausage?" LOL.

One possibility is that when the video was uploaded, they selected "all ages", (or something similar, can't remember the exact phrase). When you do that, it automatically turns off comments to protect kids from bad stuff.
