Bit the bullet AND pulled the trigger
Only ordered yesterday so no delivery date yet, now just need to order the EV wall box I'm thinking Hypervolt or possibly Simpson and Partners (ex-Andersen staff). Any recommendations on a good wall box? Looked at Zappi but only seems to suit installs where you have/will get solar in the future. Pod Point gets some comments about poor app functionality. |

The Zappi app is great, but you're right that it makes the best sense if solar is part of the mix (as it is in mine).

I have a pod point as it was free from Jag, have absolutely no complaints about its use, including the app, but then I am not really a techy.
Andersen for looks all day long. Something wrong though, no one has asked about spec, colour, deal.... come on, its a car first and electric second! Its only Tesla that are the other way round |

I've got a Pod Point (untethered), not what I would have choosen but I got the unit and the fitting free from a mate so saved me a decent amount. Not sure why you'd need anything more? The app works fine, tells me how much I've spent etc.

Congrats on the order! I didn't think you'd be up for downsizing? Are they dual motor/4wd?
I'm really pleased with my Andersen wall box haha

Downsizing was really a cost thing - the salary sacrifice cost is a chunk less than just the monthly PCP for the X5, never mind fuel savings.
The extra cash will go towards the mortgage etc and in two years time when the lease is over, I'll look again at what's there in the scheme or if BIK has gone up, go back to a Park Lane sourced car. Would be nice to get into a smaller car too as the bus is a bit of a pain in some places we go to. Ideally I'd like an iX5 but that doesn't exist yet and then get back to Merino leather, seat massage and ALL the comforts Who knows, maybe the refreshed iX3 due then will have toys and comforts too. Two years of Vernasca, here we come! I like the look of Andersen (and also Simpson & Partners). |

Look forward to seeing your review when the car iX3 arrives, what spec did you go for?
On the charger front, I looked at the Anderson Charger when we got our P300e but ended up going with an Easee https://easee.com/uk/home-charging/ Have to say it looks really modern and fresh and it's been faultless, the app is decent and you can buy changeable exterior faceplates if you don't want the standard black. Plus the unit is about a third of the size of the podpoint. Ours was going on the front of the house so I wanted something fairly minimal in design that didn't look out of place. I would recommend the installers too, very professional, they're based in Whetherby which isn't too far away and they install pretty much all the chargers available https://utley-ev.com/ Last edited by NickP X7; 11-09-2022 at 06:00 PM.. |

Interested to hear how you like it. We do like our X3 and most of the time the iX3 would be even better for us, but currently it's our long distance journey car, and also the RWD only annoys me.

Can I place an order for a new Andersen A2? Yes! Our website will be available for orders very shortly. Once we have received your order, we will be in touch with you to arrange a suitable time for installation (if requested).

Congrats on the new car, I've had one for awhile now if you have any questions. Been very happy with mines, defo not as luxurious as the X5, but soo much tech hopefully you don't miss the nicer leather.
On the charging front, if you don't need smart, I'd maybe steer clear and go with a simple one, the problem with smart is it needs an App, the App needs maintaining, and if the company goes bust (there are too many players right now), the App disappears and then the charger is useless. I got the hypervolt, I really like the charger, but I don't think all the features they promised would be rapid developed have been delivered. My friend got the Andersen, that was much better, but recently went bust, hopefully the new owners can keep it afloat. One of the great things on the Andersen, is that the cable is rated to charge whilst still coiled up, means that in the winter you can just unwind enough to keep the cable off the ground and stop your hands getting dirty. |

I do the same with my pod point, that was what the installation engineer told me to do so assume it is also rated for use whilst coiled....

True you did - I was (badly) reiterating your point as people were focusing on EV issues and (unlike normal behaviour), NOT spec and cost

Except the iPace forum, most of them dont seem as fixated on efficiency and such - probably in the wrong car if they are! |

Have these on my X5 and was hoping they were iDrive 7 functions and therefore still on the iX3.
