cutting options

I have 2 small dogs(cavalier king charles spaniels)
Both only eat raw chicken(buy fresh chicken thighs from aldi)

Step 1 meat on the chopping board
2.I have to rest the knife on the meat
3. Use palm of the other hand to give a thunk to the blunt surface of the knife to help cut through bone
4. Each chicken thigh is cut into 4 pieces as dogs are small

This is a daily chore but dogs are happy/ thriving on it.

Any suggestions on cutting options to make life easier.

Go to a butcher, buy in bulk and get them to do it?

a meat cleaver would no doubt make chopping up thighs much easier.

Wusthof or Henckles make very nice options

Start buying dog food, when they get hungry they'll eat it.

It is becoming increasing popular and many swear by it when they have dogs with digestion/allergy issues.

Just too much hassle for me and a good quality dry kibble does the trick with out two (thankfully)

My parents had a cavalier that lived to 18 on a diet of some premium dog food, I'd do away with the hassle of raw chicken personally.

We use these, can usually get em in Costco for a good price, and when you open it, it looks and smells better than some human food.

If you want to use chicken, why not get Boneless thighs? Is it exclusively chicken you feed them, or something like rice also?

The dogs get up to nasty stuff like sniffing licking theirs and each others (insert disgusting stuff here) and chew old decaying bones and stuff dropped by seagulls etc. Apparently their stomach acid is so strong it digests bone bacteria are nothing in comparison. I've been feeding raw boned chicken (bone and marrow have nutrition that boneless meat can't match)

Fabulous. Cavaliers are a nice choice. Lived up to 18! That's a miracle. Do they have a dog now.

The older one is so fussy but he loves raw chicken. May give the forthglade a go. They get a small amount of milk in the am. Some sourdough bread and butter occasionally and occasionally things like a portion of raw diced beef or shoulder or scrambled eggs etc. Ie whayever is taken out for the family and they get a portion of it raw as cooked kills vitamins etc.

They don't have a dog now. Think they felt her loss very keenly after so long and decided against going through that again.

Losing a dog can be so sad. My parents German shepherd lived till 15 and back legs went. They had to call the vet but they've never had another dog.
Wanted a gsd but these were mrs's decision and they're gentle and great with kids but zero guard dog value and royally fussy about food

Funny because KCS are notorious for being greedy little gits.

Our (over bred) Golden Retriever was a really fussy eater when we got her as a pup (due to the breeder confusing dogs with spoilt children IMO).

We soon got her out of that habit. Half starved her for a week; she'll eat anything now!

When the dog eats better than me, something has to change!
