track day
took the car auto crossing today at homestead speedway. the car ran great all day and the brakes didn't seem to fade much at all. the only mini problem i encountered was the oil temp was 260 which is the highest i have seen it. but the car was running hard and under boost all day and i have a jb3 so i m boosting more than stock. looks like an oil cooler might be my next upgrade. just thought i would let u guys know

Yup, I see 250 in just spirited driving at times. I think the newer cars will settle right around 220-230F in normal cruising.

Autocrossing shouldnt get high temps at all. Its the 20-25 minute sessions on a road race course at 90+ degrees that get the high oil temps. 45-75 second runs shouldnt get temps even up to 250 degrees.

Yea, that is a big difference. I ran at Spring Mountain Raceway in Nevada. It was nice but probably mid 80's I think. I did sessions for 20-25 minutes at a time. Autocrossing is where you setup cones in a parking lot more or less. It also depends if you leaving it in high rpm's throughout the session. I had one instructor telling me to leave it in 2nd gear at 4500+ rpms through a lot of the track. It was brutal on the car overall. The second session I shifted up to 3rd gear more.

I have gotten my oil temps as high as 295 degrees..before I shut the car down and did a warm down lap...and it wasnt very hot..maybe ambient air temp in the 75-80 range.
