PROcede Rev II Install Tip

I just installed a Rev II PROcede and learned a valuable tip. I know with the Rev II you do not have to do certain things (like connect the ground wire) However, the installation video says to start the car with just the harness installed without the PROcede installed. DO NOT do this step! I did and the car barely started then shutoff (the engine was not happy) and gave me the 'ol Service Engine Soon light. I contacted Dustin at Vishnu and he said to omit that step, plug in the PROcede, and then start the car. Well, it worked and the car performs fantastic! I just wish I knew not to do this step because I got a lot of practice installing and uninstalling the harness because I thought I did something wrong. I hope this helps.

As a side note, I also installed a boost gauge and USB cable at the same time. Thank you to all who contributed on this forum because the DIY tips and stuff helped tremendously -- although I did some things with the boost gauge install that were pretty clever that I haven't seen posted here.

Doesn't the video mention putting in the bypass plugs then starting the car? The new Rev II doesn't have bypass plugs, so that should of given you an idea to just plug in the procede right away. Either way I guess this could be confusing...

either omit the step, or put the bypass plugs on at the end of the harness. The bypass plugs were more helpful during the pin-swap harness days; where it was a good troubleshooting step to check the connections in the wiring harness...

It might of been planned, but I don't think they are. I asked the same question in another thread and he replied that they are no longer included because there was no longer a need. I'll have to find it.

Correct... no bypass plugs needed due to all the bypass circuitry we added on the board of the Rev.2.

Sorry for the confusion. I've updated the Rev 2 Read Me on vishnutuningforum.com accordingly.

Cheers,
shiv
