Folding Mirrors Question

My new X1 is basically loaded and there is a lot to figure out. I am getting there slowly but I do have one thing so far that I am unable to figure out.

Is it possible to set the mirrors to fold in when the car is parked? There is the mirror folding button but I can't seem to find a way to set them to close on park.

Maybe there is no options for that but thought I would ask.

For those of you still waiting for delivery, it is worth the wait. I assure you.

Thanks

When I was test driving the demo X1, I wanted to look through the manual. Didn't find one in the glovebox or under the trunk cover(next to the spare). The salesman checked after we got back to the dealership. They claimed that new X1 did NOT come with a printed paper owner's manual. The other two sold X1 awaiting delivery at the dealer also didn't have the it. They said that the manual was available on the infotainment screen. How is this even possible?

Can anyone who has taken delivery recently confirm this? I just want to prove my BMW dealer wrong.

I got mine. Customer probably swiped it. Has happened before. And yes, it's also available in idrive, at least in Canada. And there's also the app as I mentioned.

Oh, and if you ask, they'll also provide you with a hard copy of the entertainment user manual. Again, at least at my delaership.

Your dealer is wrong. I have a printed manual in a BMW portfolio in my glove box. I haven't looked at it yet tho....

I can't believe I fell for their lies....

then again.... my local high school no longer make actual yearbooks... it's all now digital(378 pages PDF), but they still have the balls to charge students $50. Yeah... high school boys and girls don't know how to share PDF files.

However, I'm wondering if they are holding out the printed manual because they want me to pay more. ...got them to agree to $2000 below MSRP because my family ordered two identical X1 at the same time, perhaps they are having second thoughts about it.

It's an owner's manual. They can't charge you for it. If they did, that would have to be one of the worst dealers ever.

True... but they also sent me this email last week to offer these options... (which I politely declined by not responding) Or do you guys think I should accept all of these services for over $2000 total?

$599 Front Side Window Ceramic Tint
$199 Nitrogen Fill - 4 tires
$799 Front & Rear Bumpers PPF
$279 Stain Resistant Treatment - Front & Rear Floormats
$149 Stain Resistant Treatment - Trunk Mat
$219 Door Edge Guards - All Doors

man, that's a pretty steep price on tint. The guy I go to will do the entire car including the windshield and sunroof for that much, using Xpel ceramic film. And he'll get it done in less than 2 hours.

the salesman sounded like he felt bad for having to sent that list to me... on a later phone call, he even said that I didn't have to get anything on the list that I didn't want. I assume that the BMW dealership makes the sales staff do that in order to maximize profit. No wonder it didn't take that much effort from me to get them to knock off $4000 off the MSRP.($2000 for each X1)

Nitrogen...$200. Good one. Air is what, 80% Nitrogen anyway? So effectively, $200 to "fill" your tires with Air. Nice. And yeah, that tint price is ridiculous. The PPF isn't too far off though. The rest...agreed. Making up for the discounts they gave you to be sure.

Door edge guards? Jeez, are you buying a Mitsubishi? $200 scam for nitrogen tells you all you need to know about this dealer. Definitely don’t binge them a 10 on the post sale survey.

Angry Folding Mirrors dońt open when car is unlocked

I have a 2024 bmw x1
The side mirrors are supposed to open when the car is unlocked and close when it is locked areńt they?
I can close/open with the button inside on the door.
When I took it to bmw they said it was user error(rude). And showed me if you lock the car by touching the door handle they will close and open when touching to door handle to unlock they close.
Are they supposed to open when I walk up to the car and unlocks and close when I walk away and it locks?
