So a few months back we talked about banning of certain things
He's one I mentioned and folks thought I was wrong but it's coming.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/u-conside...195707760.html So looking forward to this imaginary world where everything is electric powered. |

“The federal government may consider a ban on gas stoves thanks to mounting concerns about the health impacts of the appliances, Bloomberg reported Monday.”
This really has nothing to do with public safety. |

I like my gas over the old coil element I had before in the apartment but I did get to use one of those really nice breville induction ones at a class and it was awesome, more responsive than even gas and would get insanely hot quickly even just running on a regular wall outlet so must be insanely efficient. The only knock I see is you gotta spend $$ to get a cooktop with a big enough element for some pans, I have some massive 12"+ pans that Id want the induction top to have at least one element to run.
I already switched to induction compatible cookware (not specifically FOR that, just all of the best stuff is) and my next cooktop might be induction. |

I’ve had a Wolf induction in previous home. It was great but it still doesn’t simmer or sear like my current Thermador gas top. I much prefer seeing the flame and be able to fine tune it. With induction it’s impossible to gauge. The government is full of crap as always and it’s only going to push electricity rates higher and for those not as fortunate as us, they will feel the squeeze and I can’t imagine in say 15yrs how our electrical grid is going to all handle evs and the push to electric only appliances. In Commifornia, they will ask people to cook after 8pm.

We have a gas stove and we love it. It's the only way to cook in my opinion vs guessing how hot the electric stovetops are.
So gas stoves are supposedly dangerous because of emissions? What about gas water heaters and gas furnaces: are those not producing similar emissions? I have all three in my house so I guess I'm screwed. Lets just ban everything.

Anytime the government does anything to "protect the U.S. consumer" or U.S. anything, you should be terrified.
It's crazy how people can watch the inefficient low-intelligence corrupt mutants around them their entire lives, whether it's in the DMV, Dep of Education, etc.., and think that those who hold higher power are any better. They're the EXACT SAME PEOPLE. |

I like electric stoves better, but that is really all I've cooked on.
This has nothing to do with being green either. Just all i have ever known.

I would prefer gas, but our house came with an electric stove. It's the cheapest GE Home Depot sells. It works dramatically better than crazy expensive Bosch electric unit that was in my fancy downtown apartment in Tulsa.

My gas water heater and gas furnace are in my garage and I'm thinking its like that for a lot of people which is why they're not pushing that right now but as mentioned above, that's probably coming too.

It's like dragging a propane BBQ indoors and cooking with it. IMO, the dangerous part of this is having the compressed LP tank indoors. Having said this.... I wouldn't trade my gas range for anything. I bet having 6 glade plug-ins throughout the house is probably more harmful to us than the spent fuel from the range, lol |

I guess the difference there is MSG was never actually banned. Just a media onslaught which forced many Chinese restaurants to put up banners proclaiming "no MSG".
