Adaptive headlights question

I have a 11 328i xdrive and I was wondering if it supposed to have adaptive headlights or did they make some without them.

In the US, there was only adaptive/xenon and halogen.
Other countries had xenon without adaptive.
Run your vin on mdecoder.com to see what your car had from the factory.

Garage List
just as an FYI:

the original window sticker for my 2008 E92 335xi lists Xenon Adaptive Headlights under Standard Features

But my VIN decode lists Adaptive Headlights as Option S524A and Xenon Light as Option S522A

Adaptive/xenon lights were standard on all e92/3 in the US.

Mine doesn't list adaptive. I'm trying to figure out what all the previous owner changed. The put in led low beam bulbs.

Should adaptive headlights steer in rigth-left direction or is it just the auto-leveling function?

On e90/1 pre lci and lci they can turn side to side and up and down.

On all lci, I’ve seen them turn side to side.
On some pre lci, I’ve seen coding required for side to side movement.

I have not noticed any side to side movement on e92/3.

Lci e90/1 and e92/3 have the inner cornering lights that turn on when turn signals are turn on, when turning and when in reverse.

Post a picture of your headlights OP.

For what it's worth, I used to have a US-spec 2012 E92 328xi that had the adaptive Xenons. They would move up when you started the car, and side to side with the steering wheel.

For the US spec e90, halogens were standard and adaptive/xenon were an option.

If the OP has/had xenons, wouldn't he have the leveling sensor (up/down) on the rear subframe and the directional sensor (left/right) on the driver's side wheel? I can imagine that someone might have changed the bulbs, but probably didn't pull off the sensors.

^^ That would be for adaptive w/ xenon lights.
Xenons w/o adaptive don’t use any of that.

OP does mention previous owner installed LED low beams.
There is D1S LED bulbs but they are still fairly new and not known about by most.(Led bulbs in place of xenon bulbs)

Probably has halogen lights. Won’t know until he runs the vin or posts a picture of them.

Might have just flashed out the adaptive movement to get rid of the dash warning.

Yup I coded my headlights to be non adaptive when I first built my car because I had issues in the headlight mechanism from the accident and I knew it would be a while till I got to it.

Also coded did the same for a shop who was repairing a car for a customer who had issues with their lights that just wanted the car to not have the error. If OP's car is a white 335is in central FL you need to code them back in lol.
