Sport seats: need better headrest/lumbar support, suggestions?
Picked up msport x1 with sport seats off the lot. Probably the only option I wish was different but needed the car and couldn't wait for a custom order. Really missing lumbar support and the headrest just doesn't come forward to support my head, especially on longer drives. I know neck pillows are an option, but looking for either and add-on to the headrest or even a replacement headrest that has a forward adjustment/pillow/support. Anyone with good suggestions??

I found I had to play with the seat position for a few days to find a comfortable position for both headrest and lumbar. Now I sit more upright and a little closer to the steering wheel, with my butt firmly against the back of the seat and it's much more comfortable that adjusting it to how I would normally drive. I find on longer drives my lower back still gets just a bit of fatigue, but it's not that bad at all.

If anyone's interested, I had a headrest on my volvo that I bought through volvo, and I put it on my x1. Not quite enough padding, but definitely helpful. Here are some pics, fits well and good quality "leather".

When driving, do you rest back of your head on it? Does it make you too relaxed and sleepy by doing so? |

https://usparts.volvocars.com/p/Volv.../31470565.html On short drives, I don't normally rest my head back, but on longer drives, I definitely like having something to rest my head on (but I also have pretty poor posture with forward head). Quality is pretty good and the strap is good for the x1. I def. get more relaxed when resting my head on it lol. Plus with the adaptive cruise control, can find myself dozing sometimes lol They have some other options as well: https://usparts.volvocars.com/p/Volv.../31470560.html https://usparts.volvocars.com/p/Volv.../31470559.html https://usparts.volvocars.com/p/Volv.../32332725.html They may offer more cushioning, but I preferred the "leather" of the one I bought and can't attest to how well the other 3 would attach to the x1. |

Also has a removable cover, which means if you cut out some more foam and stuff it in there, may provide even more padding (will probably attempt to do that).

lol don't think this will work in the model y, it needs to wrap under the headrest and the headrest on the model y doesn't move (at least I don't think it does).
