No Electronic Service Mode in Bimmerlink for 2022 X3 30i

Trying to change the rear brake pads on my wife's 2022 X3 30i with Bimmerlink. Noticed there is no option for putting the electronic parking brake in service mode. When I connect to my 2022 X5M Competition the option is there. Has anyone else run into this?

There is no service function (ABL) to retract the parking brakes for G01. You need to use the correct adaptor to screw/press it back. I will attach the full repair instruction later on.

As promised, here is the full repair instruction for replacing the rear brake pads: Removing rear brake pads REP-REP-P-3421200-G01_01.pdf. You can buy some parking brake retractor tools to retract the parking brake.

Another way to retract the parking brake is to remove EMF and screw it back: Removing EMF REP-REP-P-3441690-G20_01.pdf

Great info. How do you get that? Are you a dealer tech?

They are exported from ISTA, dealer-level diagnostic software. Or you can get them from BMW AIR (Aftersale Information Research). You can get ISTA and AIR the legit way by paying BMW a subscription fee: https://bmwtechinfo.bmwgroup.com/#/login

You can also get a hacked version of ISTA from many other forums, say https://www.bimmerscene.com/

And I'm not a dealer tech, unfortunately

Yes, I figured it. Removed the parking brake cover and used a T45 clockwise. Worked like a charm. Thanks.
