Chinese wheels

Thought I'd start a thread on some wheels I had made (should arrive in the next few weeks).

I wanted a 2 piece alloy, liked a few different designs but could never settle so I decided to have some made. The benefit being is they are designed to my spec, colours, sizes etc etc and cost me around £2k (gbp) inc delivery.

I did use Alibaba this time, but it's worth mentioning I've used the forge before for a drift car build and they were amazing, no stress fractures or damage of any kind from real hard use over almost a year.

I'll update the thread as they arrive and ongoing feedback.

I'll post their name on Alibaba once they're in and properly reviewed!

1st pic was the initial design (they provide an in house CAD designer to do this for approval before manufacturing) and 2nd pic is from a clip they sent me a few days back fully manufactured and painted to my chosen scheme.

2x 20 inch 10.5j ET8, 2x 19 inch 9.5j ET10

They also measured the internal barrel to ensure the front callipers would clear.

The weight I should have tomorrow as I requested the exact final weight on each yesterday. If not I'll weigh them as soon as they are in anyway.

The weight of the 20s is just over 13kg (29lb). So a bit heavier than the 826m wheels but definitely not horrendous vs a lot of aftermarket 2 piece alloys.. especially in that price bracket!

For context the same size in the vossen cv3 which I also looked at was 28lb.

I like the design but wonder how their quality would be.
At that price range, it's not a bad option IMO.
Let us know how you like them!

The last time I used them the quality was great, but I've not had a 2 piece from them before. Will get some close up images once received as well as after some good driving time to show how they hold up.

Oh gosh please just leave the factory wheels on the car. Those just don’t go with any chassis!

What color car are these going on?
The angles remind me of the CSL grill. That would be a good match, IMO

Dravit grey (gold flake). I'm still umming and erring over the colour but will see once they're on. Agree with the csl grille! Currently running the gt / vorsteiner version

Thanks, but that's completely your opinion, by all means if you want to pay for all the parts I'll build it to your taste
Until then, I'll buy the parts I like as it's to please me, no one else.

The point of this post is if they turn out well, it gives members another option to go get their own designs made at a good price point.

Welll now, can't please everyone haha.

But glad you agree with the main purpose of the post. If they arrive, fit to spec and wear well it just gives people another option to go choose their own design at an affordable price.

I might start uploading some of my other builds at this rate and see if I can get at least 1 person to cry

The moment you've all been waiting for.. or dreading..

Wheels arrived and fitted. No spacers needed anymore.

I love the style and have some gold accenting going on the car which will offset the contrast of the wheels at the moment.

Quality is amazing for what turned out to be £1600 (inc delivery)

For 1600EU is crazy. Thats less than 2K US. How much do they weigh compared to the OEM? For reference I have BC forged in 20s with 11" in the back and 10" in the front. They are 2 piece forging. They weigh about 1.5 pounds more than the OEM because they are 2 piece.

Could the place that built them for you have different designs. Not to sound like a Dk but these are not to my liking.

Yep almost exactly the same weight increase with these.

The company is on Alibaba which is the easiest way to speak to them.
jiangsu guangwei forging.

Their 2 piece catalogue alone is 19 pages long so loaaads of choice. They'll send you a PDF of it if you message them.

Just have to be careful with measurements on them as to get this style with 19s on the front I had to shave about 2mm off the calipers (you need about 445mm to clear the calipers, this style is 443mm). Easy but to avoid it just measure the barrel or go for 20s.

Thanks. It's from Flossman, again about a third of the cost of the alpha bonnet but you can't have exposed carbon. Not an issue as I wanted it colour matched but might be a decider for others. The gpf version is even cheaper.

I think hellabadgarage in Texas are looking to put them on their M3's so worth speaking to them about cost of shipping etc to the US.

I have conflicting feelings here. On one hand I think they are damn cool and very unique. On the other hand I think it makes the car look like a Hot Wheels car. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The wheels are not good looking but if they are made well that can be changed with a better design. For cost thats a great deal. Looking at the pictures tho, Im turned off by the wheels (matter of taste) but that hood is sick AF!
