M60 engine gauges

I found these engine gauges in my M60 under

Live Vehicle

There's lb/ft of torque

instead of ft/lb but evidently there's no difference.

HP

Engine rpm

Battery temperature.

So far I've only been able to pull 671 lb/ft of torque in Sport Mode,
booting it on the highway, never mind the 749 lb/ft claimed in Regular mode by BMW.

I'll have to try this a few more times but 78 more ft/lb would be nice.
The engine rpm is 7200 at 75 mph
The TQ and HP are on deceleration

My battery temperature is between 90-135 F

Has anyone else with the M60 checked their numbers?

I'm pretty sure that's motor temperature, not the battery.

It doesn't mention these gauges at all in the owner's manual.
Typical.
Somewhere I read that it's the battery temperature but I can't seem to find it.
I'll do the battery pre warming/conditioning which should tell me which is which.

falconey is correct, it's not battery temperature. It's the motor temp. There is a tiny icon on the right which is not the battery icon.

Yes upon a closer look the icon looks like a motor with rounded ends and not a rectangle battery with + and -

These gauges are available on my iX 50 as well; you have to be in sport mode to get to them in my car anyway.

I didn't know the M50 had a sport mode.
In the M60 it's the mode that gives you the extra 100 hp.
What do you get in Sport Mode in the M50?

Access to that display and I believe stiffer suspension, throttle mapping is much more agressive. The car automatically tightens the side bolsters and maybe the sounds are different (they are off in my case).

One notable difference, and the main reason I almost never used sport mode, is that it forces you to use regen when you lift off the accelerator pedal. Makes the ride jerky. I much prefer adaptive because it is as close as you can get to having that off and this seems unavailable in sport mode.

EDIT the above about forcing you to use Regen is apparently not correct. See further posts for info.

You can definitely use adaptive with sport mode.

Maybe I have to go change the setting while in sport mode to make it work in that mode too. I don't remember if i did or not to be honest. But I don't remember other drive modes doing this. I occasionally used digital art mode and it just kept the adaptive setting from before.

falconey Did you have to set it once, or each time you switch to sport mode?

Good summary. All of these, plus it lowers the car.

I only set it once and it saved my preference.

Torque units are foot-pounds, as in they are multiplied not divided, so the order doesn't matter.
