Assistance in Springs / Spacers decision
Hello everyone!
I recently picked up a ‘23 G80 about 2 months ago and I’m eager to kill this wheel gap. I certainly want to do coilovers but want to hold off for now till I do further research and maybe get closer to summer. Therefore I think I want to do springs for now with some spacers. Tons of great threads here that have helped me narrow down to two options imo unless someone can convince me for something else. I don’t care much for HAS kit as I like to be low and do not daily the vehicle. It’s still at 500 miles, let’s just say that. I’m torn between AST and the HR super sports. It seems like they are super close with the drop and quality seems good from reviews. I’ve seen some complaints about service from AST here and there hence the hesitance. HR is a big name and has been around forever, not that I’m not open to trying new. As far as spacers I’m open to whatever brands, seems like most are good. I have Michelins so I’m thinking either 18 front, 15 rear or maybe 15/12? Again I don’t daily, I’d rather not rub but if I have to I’ll work on the plastic liner. Thoughts on all this?

I am in process doing the same. I have 200 miles. Waiting to do my 1200 mile service first. I just ordered H&R springs and I might go 12/15 or 12 all the way around bc I daily my g82.

Exactly what I did, I just did the service at 1,000 miles. I have the HR super sports sitting in my garage, waiting on 15 all around spacers to get here before I install. I’ll throw pics up once they’re on.

I have MSS springs now and just got my Eibach springs in. The Eibachs are a conservative drop so I know they won't work. Before I got new wheels, I ran 15mm spacers all around from Turner Motorsports and were happy with them. I tried 18mm for front and although they looked great, they rubbed too much without modification. I ended up cutting three fins off and there is a article on the forum where someone had a great mod instead of ordering the 900 dollar RKP fender liners. 12mm will work for the fronts with Michelin but it was a little too conservative for my taste.

I will throw in my 2c. Both H&R amd AST are great options. I have had H&R on a number of vehicles and never had any problems, was always happy with them. I decided to go with the AST’s on my 23 G80CX. I had seen a few here on the forum that had the exact look I was going for, especially paired with 15mm spacers on all 4 corners. I am very happy with them (ride quality, height, etc…). Zero issues. Not sure if I would have had any rubbing or not because when I pulled the wheels to put on the spacers I used a heat gun to heat up the vents that could rub and pushed them forward slightly. I have not had any rubbing.

It is pretty low. I have had the TLG mud flaps rub a tiny bit but haven’t really come across and speed bumps big enough to pose an issue. Would probably just avoid rather than find out. |

With the price of the AST adjustables, I can't see anyone wanting a fixed-drop spring anymore. They're pretty hard to beat. On the spacer side, get the 15/12 since you're equipped with Michelins.
We have everything in stock. Always recommend Macht Schnell spacers.

For reference I’m running 20mm spacers all around with AST adjustable suspension. Car rides good and a bit stiffer but in a good way. Sport now feels like sport plus.

Anyone with a G83 have some options/opinions? I've seen a couple threads but those seem to all have people lowering the car as well, I'll be keeping mine at stock height.
Thinking 12 in the back 15 in the front, but also don't want to deal with them rubbing at all or modifying the plastic liner. |

PZeros should go with 10F/12R, they run a bit wider than the Michelins. We have the Macht Schnell spacers in stock when ready.

Seems like some people are running 12F/15R on P Zeros without issue, I'm not planning on lowering the car, so sounds like that config would work even with P Zeros?

Sure, but there might be a tiny bit of rubbing turning the wheel at full lock. You can either trim the fins in the fender liner or stick with the recommended settings.

I finally installed my eibach springs and drove from Virginia to Kill Devil Hills NC. I have my old M3 back before I put the MSS HAS kit on.my car doesn't seem as if it's hitting the bump stops on every bump or bridge junction. The rear end doesn't squat like it was before and the noisy suspension is gone. I'm pissed I wasted money on the HAS and was going to get the Eibach pro first.
