new member -- color cape york green question?

Ordered (yesterday) X1 xDrive 28i U11 ---> color Space Silver Metallic / M Sport / Premium Pkg / 20" Alloy Wheels. We wanted the Cape York Green but the sample (8" x 8") the dealer had was very very dark green nothing like the many videos / pics (outside & showroom) I saw on line. Took some pics of the sample outside of dealer showroom and want to see what y'all think of sample -- compared to on line pics -- or if you have a Cape York Green X1 yourself. We really wanted this CYG color but not as dark as the sample -- other sample color is the Space Silver Metallic we went with. MY first post hope can upload pics.

My wife got CYG....looks dark when the sun's not out and much lighter in bright sunlight. Like most paint samples, they don't quite look the same live. Even the silver you've chosen will look different...

sample does not look like CYG at all. as mentioned above, it looks light grayish/blueish in shade and light greenish under sun. Gives a nice effect, you cannot go wrong with CYG.

I have CYG - also have a thread with pics.The color really changes its shade in various conditions.
Really cant go wrong with it

As others have said that sample is wrong, does NOT look like colour especially in the sun, dealer or someone has messed up the sample.

I have the CYG it is not that dark. Here are different angles on a sunny day.

If you have a Toyota dealer near by they may have a RAV4 or a truck in what they call “lunar rock” on the lot. If you are okay with it then you’ll love CYG. CYG is a bit more saturated, and can look grey-blue in some light, green-grey in others.

Changed my wheels from 20" to 19" (style 871 M with performance non run flat tires) & staying with the Space Silver color. Dealer says est. about July delivery.

It all depends what phone is taking the picture..
Thats another CyG in bright sun at noon.
No color edit,No filters,No changes to pictures - all taken by the same phone Iphone 12pro max (because it does matter)

Late in the day same day - sun is lower the 3 pics are at the same time but at a different angle.

Such a great colour! It was a tough choice between this and the Mineral White Metallic, which is what we eventually went with - along with M Sport and Blackout grill. Can't wait to get it.

We ordered the CYG based on the dealer's sample (since it's impossible to actually see an X1 at the dealerships across the country, big or small markets). All the video's and pictures I have seen look different. I'm do think it's a pretty color and love that it changes in the light... but it definitely does NOT match the color sample at the dealerships! I remember commenting that it was funny that it was called 'Cape York Green' when the sample looked more like a blue-grey with a touch of green. Anyway, we'll see. Looks like it's going to be mid-late May before it arrives.
