I believe you're right.
AA definitely takes the cake with surface area.

Does a larger intercooloer mean it's better? I chose the Spearco personally.

not necessarily. one definitely shouldn't choose a FMIC based on surface area alone

You're right but the number's are pretty damn awesome with my independent findings.

I haven't tried anything else to compare but I am very happy with it.
Did you click the link above to see my tests?
It's definitely worth it.

I've been testing the Helix FMIC and it keeps IATs without a couple degrees of ambient. Pretty ridiculous. In a good way, of course. And it doesn't block too much of the radiator either. That would be my recommendation.

I believe the Helix is a great product as well but obviously the AA IC doesn't block too much of the radiator either since the water temps before and after were shown to be the same.

If you own the AA then the AA is better.
If you own the helix, the helix is better.

Seriously, they are both great products and most likely puts out the same results..

Well, of course it will be the same because water temp is controlled by a thermostat.

Now take your car on the track (the real one where you go wot for more than 12sec at a time) where your cooling system's heat absorption rate is greater than the heat dissipation rate and see the difference.

Shiv
I have taken it on the track (the real one).
The only problems that I've had are my wastegates, so good luck on trying to find a link in the AA IC to the wastegate (I'm sure you'll try though)
Maybe you missed my thread about going 145 MPH at cali speedway?

Maybe try a track that actually tests cooling systems. Willow springs or Buttonwillow in the summer? FWIW, a track that is hard on brakes is usually hard on cooling. This is because average speed is relatively low with short shoots between corners. This means that average airflow through the radiator core is less than what it would on a Speedway at 145mph.

my 2c,
shiv

Well I wasn't doing 145 all the time lol.
It's the Roval; not the oval.

Yep, I'll be at willow this spring and summer and fall, and I'm gonna try to make it to Laguna Seca in August.
I recently traded in my drag radials for a set of road tires.
BTW, I wouldn't call the Roval course easy on the brakes.
