Macro Shot Album
Camera: Nikon D80
Lens: Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG Just some shots of the things I thought to photo first. I need a better tripod I found out, though almost all of these are hand-shot. And of course...

These were all taken with my favorite lens, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS with an EF25 II extension tube added. None of these are 1 to 1, but you can get an idea of the quality of the lens, even with the small file sizes neeed for upload here. Oh, my camera is a Canon 5D MkII. One great thing about the 70-200 is the IS feature which makes hand held very easy.
There was tons of dust today (not far away there was a pile up on I-70), so you can see a lot in the pictures. |

This is a continuation of the previous post. The first pic shows what the 70-200 can do without the extension tube. The other two are details of my M3's steering wheel. All hand held, of course.

Cool! I love the little creepy crawlies
It looks like you're having fun with your new macro lens. My best advice would be to hold off on the tripod if you're planning on much bug shooting at high magnification. The little guys always seem to move around enough that tripods do me more harm than good. All of the shots below are hand held...

Did you resize? There's a limit and I've found it best to shoot for 90% or so of the limit, so instead of a 1300 width I'll use 1200. Also, it takes a few minutes for the upload and the error messages are cryptic. What lens are you using in those nice bug photos? Dave |
