Adding a sub woofer how to tap into wires

Hi

If I wanted to tap into the woofer wiring to get signal to mono amp, do you know if I need to tap into both the left and right woofer?

I say this because the mono amp has a left and right channel for speaker input.

The technic pnp is out of stock

It's best to tap into both sides. There is quite some stereo information coming from those underseats. If you only tap into one side you will lose some of that sound.

In the amp both sides will be summed into a mono signal for the sub.

They should be the thickest gauge set of twisted wires coming from the amp. I'm not sure the colours on a HK amp are the same (I think they are) but on a Hifi amp they are blue-red/blue-brown and black-red/black-brown.

Included is an image of those wires in my car for reference. I tapped into them under the rear seat since I have a touring and it's hard to get to the amp on one of those.
