European Delivery

Fellow members:
I would like to start a poll of how many of us would like to start another European Delivery for the US. I am going to pick up a Euro Spec 530d M pkg Touring. While there, I asked to speak to someone at BMW Welt about restarting the program. I will document the Euro delivery and submit my interview to the ROUNDEL. Let me know your thoughts.

I've done four of them. I wish they would bring it back.

Just do it like a tour package.
Charge a few bucks for it , but keep the 5% discount
Pays for itself and you promote tourism and hype for the brand
I've done 2 and both times it resulted in another coworker buying a bmw with Euro Delivery because of talking to me about my trip

I have never done it but always wanted to. Now that I have retired it would be a great way to travel and have an extended vacation in Europe.

Hmm. With the 2,3,and 4 series made in Mexico European delivery is kind of obsolete.

Yea, I'd hate to come back with a bunch of bullet holes in my new car.

There is still 2, 3, and 4 Series production in Germany and at least some U.S. bound 3ers are still built in Germany.

Mexican delivery, prb solved.

I personally don't get it, don't want more ppl handling my car due to an extra step. If I wanna visit Europe, there are other/better ways. Also, yes, we have Bimmers, they are very nice, but they're not GMAs or Paganis haha.

Actually the 2 series was designed and only made in Mexico. That includes the new M2.

The only “extra” person who “handles” your car with ED is you.

The F44 2 Series Gran Coupe is produced in Germany. Anathema as it may be, I’m pretty sure BMWNA actually sells more of those than G42 2 Series coupes and definitely more than G87 M2s.

I must admit that I didn't consider the 2 GC. Such a bad example of a BMW that it shouldn’t matter where it is manufactured.

What do you mean? Instead of it going straight on the ship, it gets taken out for pickup at the HQ, then after I'm done w it, someone has to put it back into the queue.

Okay. Whatever. In my seventeen years on Bimmerpost and Bimmerfest you are literally the only person I’ve ever seen who was concerned about “extra” handling of their car as a reason not to do European Delivery. As a matter of fact, in those seventeen years I’ve never seen a single post from someone who did ED where they said they were sorry they did it and wished they hadn’t. But, you do you.

If they bring it back, I'll order another car just to do it.

You don't have to get offensive just cuz I don't care for ED. That's not my only reason anyway (however, considering how anal ppl are here about PPF I'm surprised that's the only time you heard of this) but 'you do you' too, whatevs. I'm just stating that your previous post is incorrect as ofc there's more ppl involved handling the car, that's all.

Well there will never be a European delivery on an M2. They are all made in Mexico.

Can Europeans do an American Delivery on X vehicles at the PC and then have it shipped back to Europe. I don't think so, but that would be interesting. They could drive it up the east coast or down to Florida or something.

It has to be a program that is setup by the PC in coordination with your host nation. If the auto dealers in your country don’t have the program, it would not be possible.
