Realistic Aftermarket HPFP options?
I posted this in the general forum, but it should have gone here.....my original HPFP finally bit the dust after 16 years and 218k miles of ownership (I'm the original owner).
I'm having a hard time justifying over $1K for an HPFP on such a high mileage engine. Hoping this engine still has years of life left, but would hate to drop so much money only to have the engine bite the dust anyway. Has anyone tried the Vemo HPFP that ECS & Turner are both selling for just over $500? Or the OSIAS or other HPFPs found on Amazon for more around $200-250?

I would probably try to find a used oem one off of a lower mileage car instead of rolling the dice on one of those cheap rebuilt HPFPs.

I looked on eBay and there are plenty of used OEM ones from parts recyclers that seem to have good reputations....most $200 or less. Many sellers even have 30 day return policies if it doesn't work.
I'm going to plan on going that route. Now that I have another car as a daily and my 335i only gets about 4K miles/year, the risk seems fairly low running a used HPFP. Even if it fails, I'd have to go through 4 more before reaching the cost of a current new one. Thanks for the tip, everyone!
