Just wanted to see if I’m the only one experiencing this. I got on the list last April for a G80 M3 at my local dealer, and I’m currently sitting at 17 place on the list to get an allocation.

My rep is telling me that they have only been getting 1-2 allocations per month, if any.

Am I being strung along or are others experiencing this as well?

I would talk with a couple dealers. Something seems off. I could see waiting a few months possibly but not a year. I placed my deposit 1/20. Allocation 3/1.

There are plenty of dealers out there that can get you an allocation.

I ordered a M4 Comp in February. Found one dealer that had 2 people in line. One dealer had no one in line. She was built today. Gotta call around and find high volume dealers who have higher allocations.

Maybe tell folks here where you are and they might be able to point you in the right direction.

i was in your place early january 2023. I was #20 on a waitlist at a dealer about 40 miles away from me at msrp. They received about 1 allocation a month and i left a refundable deposit to hold my place, i went from 20 to 12 within 3 months due to ppl dropping out. I finally decided to go the broker route march 1st and don't regret it. I got an allocation right away and i'm currently week 16 and awaiting shipment of my g80.

What I'm trying to say is that your not being strung along but maybe reach out to dealers out of state or take the broker route!

I looked up BMW NA Center of Excellent award winner around me (typically high volume) and one had 1 person in line but said I should get an allocation in next monthly batch. For me it’s like 400 miles away but local dealer said 9-12 months so was definitely going to make that drive

I did the same. Only had to go about 180 miles but was only on the wait list for a month.
Definitely look around. That's way too long to wait for an allocation when other dealers are filling every M order they place.

I waited since January 2022 and just got my allocation 4/15 2023. Houston area have waits 40 deep. I did get on another dealer list in November 2022, and they said I was 6 and a couple weeks ago said I was one, but then the first dealer came through and now I'm week 19 112 Status.

There is no reason to be on a single dealer waitlist as you know dont know how honest their waitlist process is and they wouldnt get a ton of allocations every month especially with a long waitlist. If you have spent a little time in the forum, the recommendation is to be on multiple waitlists since 2021. When I was looking for an allocation, I reached out to 25 dealers across the nation and was on 6 dealer waitlists.

Instead of waiting for a year, you could have reached out to a broker who would have charged a small fee and skipped all these MSRP price hikes.

Not sure what part of TX you guys are in...and what is going on over there...

I am in DFW, February 5 accepted a new job that would occasionally require 4 doors (owned an M2C), called a single dealer (Arlington), had my Production Number February 6, Went through production on 4/5, waiting at the Port since 4/11...
$2k deposit, at MSRP minus $750 loyalty. MF with no mark ups.

I'm in Houston and the dealers in Houston had long wait lists. I called/emailed all of the surrounding small cities (think Beaumont, Tyler, College Station, etc.) and found the dealer that had allocation. I think they normally start allocations for the next month at the end of the previous (now), so you may find an allocation immediately. Definitely don't just contact one dealer and sit on their wait list forever.

My deal was MSRP minus loyalty.

I thought as much that it’s odd to be on the waitlist for this long, and even more to be in the same position for several months.

My order is in with Sewell BMW Plano, who I have a great relationship with and enjoy working with. It stinks because my hope was to get an iDrive 7 car, and avoid the price increases.

Are there dealers in the DFW or Texas that I can get an MSRP deal with no games?

All MY24 M4 have ID8 and MY23 M3 and up have ID8. So if you really want ID7, your only option is to buy used. You can reach out to the brokers on this forum Day Laborer and autocompanion who might know of cars coming in to the states or have an open allocation.

As for ordering your own, I would reach out to Dealers in College Station (Blake is his name) and San Antonio and see where the wait list is. If the list is long, just expand your search to the states neighboring TX or if you wanna do PCD, then expand your search outside of this zone. You should be able to snag an open allocation soon

local dealer said 1-2 years to wait--waited at least 6 months with no movement. I couldn't do that. Went to another dealer in a different state.

Sewell, 2 miles from my home…and I’d never buy from them. When I was buying my M2C, they told me long wait times and absolutely nothing under MSRP. Went to another dealer, got my production number the same day at 4% discount (plus incentives)…April 2021…

Called Sewell February of this year — same crap, “a year+ wait, MSRP, no incentives, MF bump…”. Called the other dealer, had my production number the very next day at MSRP - loyalty, at MF, no add ons. My car is now waiting for the ship to cross the ocean.
