Amplifying Turbo Sound?
Hello all,
I have a 22 M4 and have an incoming AA Equal Midpipe and Remus Sport Exhaust Coming. I love the turbo whine. Will downpipes or a specific intake make the turbo whine louder? Thanks! |

Intakes. You want intakes for those kinds of sound. I have MST. They are LOUD. I love them.

Thanks. This is how they sound. They are flogging it at the 14 second mark a little to show you how they sound. Its not THAT drastic in normal driving and they are recording it from the engine bay in this video. But I assure you, you, all your passengers, including cars you might be passing next to you, will hear that shit. I sometimes "swoosh fart" on dumbass drivers I pass for safety or drivers that be drifting into my lane because they are on there iphone.

I've had MST, BMS, and MAD intakes on my car. All of them sound fantastic and make a significant difference. It ultimately comes down to your personal preference for the intake style (front or regular).

I live in deep south TX on the boarder of mexico. I currently have MAD Catted DP and single mid (LOVE THEM). I will be sending ECU to FEMTO in the next 2-3 weeks. I would like a bit more sound but not at the expense of power or heat soak. Do these suck up a bunch of heat as I have heard or is that just people talking? Oh and South TX equals a bunch of hot days. 60% are 90-100 degrees.

Good information in this thread. Seems like if performance is the Main goal, stock airboxes with drop in filters, or the front mounts are ideal. The short ram intakes seem like they’ll hurt performance slightly due to engine bay temps.
Or is it all irrelevant since one of the intakes run parallel to the radiator anyway? The fact that people are making 700+ WHP on stock airboxes is amazing though. |

This. Front mounts make a huge sound difference and is the only way to get true air in the engine bay as the front plastic that surrounds the grill and radiator/exchanger is basically sealed. Even if you do regular intakes I recommend cutting out holes on each side. |

Car has our Downpipes so the exhaust is fairly loud. The mic does a great job at picking up what it's pointed at.

I have the Dinan carbon intake and it made a pretty significant increase in turbo and induction sound. Getting in boost then letting off around 4k, you get that pretty sick sounding turbo woosh
