Any of your sons or daughters into cars???

Are any of your sons or daughters car enthusiasts/motorheads?

Both of my sons are car enthusiasts and work on their cars as much as possible, just as I do.
Every time we get together we are always in the garage talking cars or working on the cars. The wife gets a bit jealous sometimes

No, not really. At least not wrenching on them.
They all drive manuals though, so I haven't totally failed as a parent!

My 13 yr old knows more than me these days and is an avid car enthusiast. Great hobby together. We’re going to the Porsche and Mercedes Museums together next month in Germany, even rented an AMG estate for the trip.

Both of those museums are AMAZING! My wife, who doesn't care much for cars, even loved the Mercedes one. I wish my 2 girls would be interested but they are not.

Both my girls are into cars, both drive sticks, and can parallel park and reverse than most folks I know. One found out that her lowered Golf is not a great vehicle when commuting to Tahoe for skiing this winter. She is a NE girl and is used to ripping in the snow and is appalled by having to put on chains with a couple of inches of snow....aside from bottoming out on snow....now she wants a second car... sigh :-)

My adult son and daughter are enthusiasts in the sense of appreciation of cars, and they have opinions on which cars they like and don’t like. They don’t wrench.

A 15 yr-old nephew is a wrencher on stuff and I save maintenance jobs to do on my cars when he is around to do them under my supervision.

My oldest son loves going to car shows and meets.
Sometimes I go with him to a car show, it`s a nice way to spend time with him doing something that we both love.

My boy, who is 22, has the disease from his father

He often helps his mates with their cars and always helps me when I need it, that’s if he can be bothered!

He also drives a manual GTI so I haven’t completely failed.

I know this is about sons and daughters and I don’t want to derail the thread, but this made me think of myself. I had a collection of about 100 Hot Wheels cars that I took with me everywhere. And this is me with my first car. My uncle bought it for me for my third Christmas. I was two and a half.

I forgot to add, the little turd never puts my tools back where they belong!

I’m sure he does it on purpose as well as he knows how much it pisses me off!

Both kids are car enthusiasts....Son had a GTI, E46, and Civic Si, all manuals. We lightly modded the last 2. Daughter had a Civic Si, now a GTI (manual) that she just helped me install lowering springs on. Great to have the kids enjoy some of the same money pits as I do.

My son works for a large car group with about 40 dealerships and currently is buying Land Rovers, Jaguars and Porsches for this group. I bought my last 3 vehicles through him and he often brings home interesting vehicles for me to drive.

My old man bought me and each of my brothers our own higher-end basic personal tool kits when we were young, and told us that we were on our own if we lost any of those tools. None of us *dared* to go into his toolbox or even touch his tools.

Over four decades later, I still have every one of those tools...except a 15/16" box wrench that is now rusting at the bottom of the Arthur Kill off of Staten Island. I accidentally dropped it overboard from my boat in 1989, while doing an emergency propeller change after breaking a blade on some submerged garbage.

Just throwing this suggestion out for parents, to teach responsibility as well as encourage learning about things mechanical.....

My boys are 10 and 7 and seem to be pretty into cars. During the first 2 summers of covid times we would go to the fancy dealerships when we were bored and wanted to get out of the house. And we started hitting up several car shows a year. That time spent around cool cars really helped form the passion. Up until last year they were still pretty into those activities. We'll see what happens this summer.

Both my son and my daughter are into cars, both of them Love Motorsports. Formula 1 Junkies and my daughter has really gotten into IndyCar racing since she is going to school in Indianapolis. She tagged along last Saturday with my group of fraternity Brothers that always goes up to time trials and then she went back with a friend on Sunday for the rest of qualifying and the Fast 6. She's going to go with me to the 8-hour endurance race at Indy in October and hopefully we will be going to the first 24-hour race there
