I5 headlights

It currently seems there is only one choice for headlights and it’s LED?

Are they quitting the laser option like there currently is?

Anyone knows?

And another question is, are they full matrix, or just simple adaptive with basic high / low beam switching?

Pretty sure I read somewhere that laser had been dropped as leds were now capable of what they could do

Suspect a lot cheaper as well

I read LEDs are standard and Full LEDs with cornering lights are part of the Premium and Executive Packages. Be good to see pics with and without for comparison and then do the daytime running lights stay the same???

Miss the days of standard cornering lights with xenons in a base E90. Pay up for every little thing now on a pricey vehicle.

Laser lights are not allowed in the US.

Already posted in the wrong thread: regular vs M Shadowline headlights and taillights (M Sport Pro), purely cosmetic difference:

Same on the 7er's taillights:

The laser lights have been dropped. That is good news. I have the laser lights on my X5 and they suck.

Per the infographic from launch press kit, matrix high beam is optional.

What I'm waiting to learn is whether or not the VLD/anti-dazzle/tunneling patterns are now available since US law now allows them. Standard functionality of the auto-high beam is nice but VLD/anti-dazzle is better.

US Law is different from EU laws and SAE standards. More legal analysis is most likely being done by manufacturers. For now, there are no VLD options in the US from BMW. Look at the i7, for example. Has VLD decoding.

You will have to manually activate it through coding. Fun fact: you can't code the G60 because of Secure Coding.

They are allowed, because there are vehicles like the X7 that were sold with them in the US. But BMW had to limit there brightness.

So mine is in production, it has the capability to do VLD/anti-dazzle/tunneling, but it’s decoded.

Wow how did you get the massaging seat option? Also isn't multi-contour seats standard on the i5 M60?

Edit: seems this is x5 :-)

Are you sure you posted the correct build sheet? The one posted is for X5 50e :-)

I grabbed the wrong order sheet, sorry. We preferred the X5 first and then switched to the i5.

Okay two things:
(1) Decoding for high beam in the US
(2) No massaging seat for i5 (I'd hate myself if that was available and I didn't get it).

Same, I am guessing it does not have massage seats due to the drain it would have in the battery.

Briefly got some of our hopes up for massaging seats there, BMW-X!

Wouldn't have been a deal breaker but a nice-to-have for sure.
