BMS Clutch Stop
Anyone installed it on theirs yet? Just did mine and it doesn’t feel very secure when pushed all the way down. It wiggles around a little, I’m afraid maybe it got stripped a little when screwing and pushing it in or something but it’s in there. I may order another one but was curious if anyone else has installed it on their G87 yet.

I haven’t driven around in it yet after putting it in but I’ll take it out tomorrow and see. It’s a bit concerning that it’s wobbling around a little but the clutch pedal is making good contact with the stop whenever I press it down all the way. It’s cheap so I’m going to order another one and replace it.

Some of the G80 guys have reported it sometimes prevents the clutch switch from engaging, so it stops gear shift assist from working.
Enough to sway me from installing one - hoping there's a UCP in development for the G8x platform! |

Interesting, haven’t heard about that. I’m treating the BMS clutch stop as a short term option as opposed to a more long term solution like a UCP. Odd that there still isn’t one available for the G cars yet.

As for feeling a bit wobbly or similar - after the first few shifts when the pedal is pushed to the floor, that should drive it into place and it should be fine. I've had one in my M2c since new (24k miles) and in my Golf R (50k), solid as the day they were installed. And very effective.

I've got a Burger and an eBay clutch stop on my desk ready for the M2. I'll take photos of both and post when I go to install. I might end up combining bits from each to make my own custom version. Of course, the stop sale on the car has to be lifted first. UGH!!!

Wouldn’t it prevent the clutch from fully decoupling, thus slipping it further? |

AFAIK the only way to shorten how far out the pedal comes is UCP. |

Honestly the engagement point feels so high that it doesn’t feel stopping the clutch pedal travel 15mm sooner than where the OEM clutch stops will risk slipping the clutch at all. The BMS clutch stop with all discs in place has a total of around 15mm of thickness, I’ve read elsewhere on these forums that people have installed them with all discs for max distance reduction without any issues. I’m going to take one disc out when installing the next one anyway though.

I'll also add that I don't have any issues with the sensors when it comes to auto rev-match. |

I think the clutch stop of one good way of dealing with the clutch delay valve. I have started not pushing my clutch pedal all the way to the floor when shifting and am having a more positive shifting experience, much smoother. So, I have to wonder if less fluid behind the slave cylinder is the reason (less fluid to go throug the delay valve and thus less delay). Anyway, I’ll be ordering the stop, just haven’t yet.

So I installed another clutch stop with one spacer disc removed and replaced the shifter knob with a Motorwerks V2 titanium plated shift knob. The shifts definitely have a better feel to them, the added weight of the shift knob feels good and the shorter clutch pedal travel is nice and the rev matching has been working flawlessly.
I will say it feels like you can definitely leave all of the spacer discs installed and not worry about slipping the clutch. |

If youre installing the BMS clutch stop, cut off the pointy end, it will fit much better, the point is hitting the piece behind it.

My BMS clutch stop arriving today, has anyone tried it with all the discs in place for max amount of pedal travel reduction? Also I am not a DIY person at all but watching bunch of youtube videos on it making the installation look very easy on F87 or G80 cars. Is the G87 installation just as easy? My main concern is accessing the spot, looks like pretty simple mod after that point...

I just took a look and looks like the clutch stop is exposed, no? I was hoping it was this white piece circled in red was the factory clutch stop that I needed to replace, what am I missing?
