AA midpipe + AA rear section
Currently running an AA single midpipe with the AA rear section. Experience drone 1800-2k rpm and decent in cabin drone throughout. Wondering if anyone’s switched to the AA resonated midpipe and if there’s any drone they experience?

Do you have downpipes?
I have catless dp + AA resonated single mid + stock muffler. I don't think the resonator does much with how small they are diameter wise. This setup w/ valves 100% open it drones. Valves closed the drone is reduced by ~90%. I welded in 4.5" gesi cat right before the brace and it helped my drone and reduce the overall dB by a bit. I still close the valves on highway cruising though and the drone is basically 99% gone. If you want to keep the AA muffler. I would suggest you either buy resonators from like vibrant or Aero and get them welded on. Or look into a different midpipe like Supersprint. Last edited by njoyRice; 06-16-2023 at 07:57 PM.. |

I recently had a single resonated midpipe with the AA rear section and dahler valve contoller. I experience slight drone and the same rpm range but minimal. I have since move to the equal length with no resonator and no more drone.

Mind posting some sound clips and maybe taking a video from the interior?

I’ve had the AA EL on for a few weeks with stock axle back. Just switched out to the AA axle back, and it sounds amazing. It’s slightly louder at 1800-2k when cruising on the highway, but don’t think it’s drone, as it’s really not that noticeable. My old CTSV would echo through the car and rattle my eardrums.

That 200 RPM range is tricky with any exhaust setup. Some level of drone may be expected, but if it's excessively loud, it might be worth checking your installation.
I used the same setup for some time and didn't experience any intolerable drone at that specific RPM range.
