Wow, that's a huge bolt right in there. Do you have run flats? How did the handle the situation?

Not huge as shown in the picture, but I got low pressure warning. I could drive to dealership with lower speed (could be < 60mph).
At the dealership, I could find a big nail. I ordered the same tire, costs $650, one tire, not a pair. It took more a day because they didi not have one in stock. I got a loaner car (brand new X5 45e, hybrid one).
Overall good experience except quite expensive tire price.

$650 and a day of headache later, I got the tire fixed. It comes with 1 ur warranty in case tire gets damaged. But 🤞🏽 nothing else happens!

How much tread difference is there between the new and the old tire? I'm thinking that if the difference is significant, then a dealer would recommend replacing both tires, right?

My son experienced a similar road hazard -- a piece of rebar that went through the tire and the wheel.

Yeah -- a rubber plug wasn't up to the task! Wheel was trashed.

I’ve only had the car for about a month. So I don’t think it would have mattered. My tire that got got the screw in it still looked brand new.
I brought it back with me. Will try to do something with it.

That damage is too close to the side wall. Shouldn't try to repair it, will be a hazard !

Continental does not recommend repairs because the extent of damage cannot be determined (https://continentaltire.custhelp.com...be-repaired%3F).

Maybe a dock-side boat bumper?

No injury -- just a "what the heck was that" moment.

This tire was on his Lexus RX. Lexus dealer gave him a $1500 credit toward one new wheel and 4 new tires. His out of pocket was $800.

I was thinking about making a flower pot out of it.
