As much as I love my 2020 X4M Comp, I hate that this thing cold starts every damn time, even if I turn the car off for 10 min the car will cold start again once turn back on. As anyone experience this before .

Also yes. It can be tuned out.

Bootmod3 makes it effortless to tune out. I forgot how loud mine was with just and AA midpipe on cold start until I flashed it back to stock for a dealer visit.

Turn off the cold start and it’s way quieter.

Buuuut, don't you need to send your ECU to a foreign country at great expense to unlock?

Not for a 2020, I have a self-installed BM3 tune on my 2020 X4MC.
I believe it's 2021+ that have the locked ECU.

Good thing my neighbors like me because when I leave for the gym at 5am it can’t be pleasant for them. The valves are open on my X3M and valves and resonator delete on my M3.

So 2021 with idrive7 should be send out to a tuner for unlock? I thought it’s only for newer ID8.

Same response as 95wildtt. Mine is a 2020. Used BM3 from my phone.


I still don’t understand why they have to be sent overseas to unlock? I’m assuming something to do with software regulations or something in the US not being as consumer friendly??
