Dropping from mirror
Yesterday after a car wash, I witnessed a strange issue, some sort of sticky gel sort of things was coming out from bottom of the driver side rear view mirror.
Is it some kind of an oil which is needed for mirrors’ movement? Do I need to take it to dealer to get inspected? |

Auto dimming mirrors use an electrochromic gel that dims when turned on. While I haven’t heard many issues with these “frameless” style mirrors in comparison to prior generation mirrors (which used a thick black frame), this could potentially be a leak. If you notice a bubble form in your mirror, it will need to be replaced. The gel is also caustic to paint.
