Stock height, rubbing with 15mm spacers

Found it odd that I知 rubbing against the front fender liner with 15mm spacers when in reverse and full lock. Stock height.

This is after putting on spacers and swapping to my black 826m wheels with Pirelli痴.

Haven稚 seen anyone with this issue. It seems like most of us have been getting Michelins, so I値l throw on my bicolor 826m with a Michelin and see if the tires are the culprit.

Well I actually have a little rubbing with my wheels which give 12mm extra poke in similar situation, reverse, full lock, 285/35/19 PS4S. I only notice it for a split second when backing out of my driveway or a parking spot and cranking the wheel. Didn't consider it worthwhile mentioning until now because it doesn't bother me.

My rubbing is pretty substantial here. It値l eventually wear down the liner.

That is interesting. Surprised no one else is reporting it.

The Star Spec 275/35-19 Pirellis have an 8mm wider tread width going by the published spec than the Michelins, so a little bit more square shoulder that would make clearance on full lock to the liner a bit less.

There's a thread floating around here where I posted a pic.

Hopefully that'll solve the issue. Michelin's will be going on the car.

That痴 really odd. I壇 be very surprised if the rubbing is just from the more squared off threads on the tire. Please update when you try on the Michelins as I知 very curious!!

While you have the tires off, can you take a photo of them from the top (so we can see the contact patch)?

Curious to see the difference in tires (Pirelli and Michelin). Assuming the Michelin are also Star spec?

Yes Michelins came on the G87. I値l likely throw the bicolors back on Friday.

You want a picture of the top of the tire?

Yes, please? Of both together side by side? And if you池e able, can you measure the contact patch too of both to confirm if they池e indeed different?

I have Pirelli's and was rubbing with 12mm spacers. I cut out the fins on the fender liner that sit in front of the tire and put in a mesh grill. No more rubbing.

It's odd we are just now getting a couple reports of this when seems like many have gone spacers or aftermarket wheels already. Wondering if some are not realizing it's rubbing or maybe capping the spacers at 12mm in the fronts avoids it?

It's possible that many don't realize it. Like I said in my case, it happens only very briefly in reverse near full lock. I don't even notice it if the radio is on. Not worth worrying about to me so I never reported it. YMMV.

Was surprised by that as well. In my case there is no way one could miss the rubbing.

Definitely not the case for me. The rubbing is quite loud...you can hear the plastic fins cracking.

I also deal with it each time I drive backing it out of my garage. Been taking some WEIRD angles to try to avoid it.
