2024 X5 xdrive50e noise

Hello,

I just put a deposit in on an X5 x50e and I have read a few negative posts on the amount of noise relative to other X5 models/years. Would someone with this model please share their experience and opinions?

Thank you!

I have the 50e (currently in the shop for CEL-valve issue) and found that on not so smooth roads the noise was excessive. I have the 21 Pirelli run flats. I narrowed down the noise to be coming from the left front. Sitting in the passenger seat it's not so bad but very aggravating on the driver's side. Took it back to the dealer and test drove another X5 with same tires and did not notice any noticeable difference. On smooth roads, I find the car to be very quiet.
I suspect that the Run flats are to blame and once/if I get the car back, I'll swap out to non run flats and possible 20 inch wheels. Of course, I'll have to figure out what to do for a spare.

Haven’t noticed unusual noise from our 50e 1600 miles in. We have the standard 20” wheels with the A/S run flats.

Our prior car is a 2011 X5 50i and with the 8-cylinder, there is a lot more noise. It’s fun noise — but there’s a lot of it.

Thank you. I was able to test drive a 50e yesterday ant took my iPhone decibel ap with me. I currently drive an AMG and the noise was at worst equal to and at best much less than my current car.

I appreciate the insight and feedback.

My 50e with the 20s and continentals is very quiet on the highways and bad roads and its glass smooth. I would avoid the Pirellis at all cost and the 21s if you can. If you do need the 21s dump the Pirellis and get some decent Michelins.
