Screen replacement (non-touchscreen to touchscreen)

Hello everybody

My name is Diego and I'm new to this forum.

As the rules state, I have searched about this topic before posting this. I've found an older post with an explanation on how to achieve the screen replacement but it is 1. quite old and 2. a different car model.

Hence my questions: Is it possible to change an M440i (G26)'s (late 2022, iDrive 7) screen and code it to enable the touchscreen? If so, would anyone be willing to guide me in the right direction?

I am not new to programing or computers but a complete newbie when it comes to coding cars.

I would appreciate any help I can get.

Please mind that due to this account being new, I can't access the PM feature.

Thank you and kind regards
Diego

Unfortunately, it cannot be coded. They are 2 completely different screens. I'm going to go out on a whim and assume you can buy the updated screen from BMW or another reputable retailer and code it if you really want the touch capability.

I did not explain myself properly:

I don't want to code my non touchscreen screen to be a touchscreen. I want to buy a touchscreen screen and enable the functionality by coding it. Now I'm just a complete beginner when it comes to coding.

Perhaps someone in this forum would want to help out?

Thank you for the reply

Check if you have 6UY - “Omission of touch function”.
If you have it remove it from FA then vo code.
You can also code
HU_MGU
CID_HMI_TOUCH: nicht_aktiv -> aktiv
CID_TOUCH: nicht_aktiv -> aktiv

Hello! I am cdp, and very new on this forum. I achieved my 430i last year, January, while still in the pandemic. At its delivery, BMW informed me about the lack of control chips for the touchscreen. My understanding is the screen itself is touch-enabled, yet the control chip is missing. Is there any chance for me to install that chip and then gain the touchscreen functions? Thanks!

I dont think they manufactured the screen with all components with only a chip missing, the touch panel and other items will also be missing.
You can disassemble both screens and check the differences.
