Be interested to see if they tie into the car's lighting and come on/go off/change color with them...

+1, OP if you can contact the seller and update us if it could work in tandem with rest of the car’s ambient lighting it’ll be a super upgrade

Not sure, but it says this in the eBay description "Reminder: Only suitable for cars with automatic shifting, not for cars with manual shifting"

Found this thread on the g80 forums, the led will be the same color as the led strip of the dashboard, not the footwell lights. I went ahead and ordered it.

This didn’t work in my m2, when I unplug the stock connection for the LED to connect the nee mights and piggy port for stock connection, my ambient lights turn off even when the setting is on. I tried messing with different color options and still everything remained off.

What do you mean the ambient light turns off? Are you referring to the eBay light strips or the foot well lights.
I know the cars got footwell entry light and then the footwell lighting should switch to whatever the ambient color is right?

Both footwell and dashboard LED turn off when you make the connections, and the ebay piece would light up at first but now it doesn’t light up at all.

No instructions, I simply went by the youtube guide that was linked earlier in the thread. I have not reached out to the seller either aince these were bought in aliexpress.

Taking delivery of my M2 soon. this always bothered me how little ambient light is in the G87/G42.

These guys are local to me and developed at kit which now works on M2. Apparently they can also make the chinese ali kits work too if you already bought them.

i got the full console suite with cupholder lights too but you can opt for just the console. Excited to take delivery and get this thing modded!

thats because they are OEM BMW lights and custom wiring harness from what they told me. its hilarious to me that people spend 60-70k+ on a car and expect aliexpress prices on anything quality with a company in the states that supports thier customers. as you can see above, some people got scammed by ali express effectively. if they dont work, I am sure they would let you return. and you dont need to pay an arm and a leg to ship over seas.

my M2 is currently in transit so hopefully will have a nice chirstmas present to work on and will report back.

It seems as if you misunderstood me, I’m willing to pay the price if and when I’m guaranteed of this product working. What I was trying to say was that I’m not willing to gamble $350 not for a $60k bmw nor for a $250k porsche.

Thanks for the update to this thread and the info for this vendor.
Since I already have the china made kit. How do I engage the service of this vendor to help make my set work?
I am assuming what I bought is not going to work… based on others who have tried.
My M2 arrives next week
