19" tires for i5 M60
I ordered car for October (hopefully) delivery and it's currently in production (I think the factory is closed for vacation but it is theoretically started and I have a VIN). I ordered the 19" tires and my only option was summer tires. I plan to swap out for all seasons ASAP, possibly even by the dealership before delivery. Probably will purchase tires from TireRack to get the 24 month road hazard warranty (lots of potholes locally). Questions:
1) I like Michelin tires. Looking at the MICHELIN PRIMACY TOUR A/S vs the Pilot all season series. The primacy is supposedly developed for EVs and is a touring tire, while the Pilot is high performance. What would make more sense? Pros and cons? Car will be in Eastern Long Island and make trips primarily locally and to NYC. Some snow concerns at times but AWD will help (that is why I got the M60 vs the eDrive 40 - I already own an i4 eDrive 40 and love it). 2) Any other tires concerns I should think about? 3) Are there better options for tire protection than buying from TireRack? Discount Tire does not have installers in NY. |

I am leaning strongly to the MICHELIN PRIMACY TOUR A/S. My i4 eDrive40 has 15,000 miles and Pirelli P Zero A/S tires - it had one flat at a pot hole that blew out the sidewall - and the tires show some wear on the outer edge of the front tires. I want to get EV designed tires as a result and I prefer to avoid high performance tires.
Car has a production date of 9/8 so I will need to make a decision soon. Its aftermarket regardless. |

I have a 2023 540i G30 that came standard with 19" None RunFlats. Yesterday I had a set of OEM 18" wheels and Non-RunFlat MICHELIN PRIMACY TOUR A/S installed. It made a huge difference in terms of ride quality refinement, small road imperfections are absorbed extremely well, very smooth and quiet.
The MICHELIN PRIMACY TOUR A/S tires are excellent, you can't go wrong with them.

I bought 4 19" MICHELIN PRIMACY TOUR A/S tires from TireRack. Had them installed yesterday on my 5 day old i5 M60. Replaced summer only Michelin Primacy tires that came with car. They look similar from the outside. Happy to have all seasons as it gets colder.

Don't get lack of all season in the 19s. I ordered mine with 20s to get the all seasons.
What are folks doing about non-run flats with the absence of a spare? Inflation kit? |

I wanted the extra range from 19" tires. Was worth the extra cost of an extra set of times ($1200) to get 19" A/S.
I have been driving cars with non-run flat tires and no spare for almost a decade since 2015 M4. I have already has one blowout in i4 last year that required toe truck. Thinking of buying a spare kit. Here is something available for i4 (and I am sure i5 will follow): https://modernspare.com/product/2022...e-kit-options/ |
