Ordering aftermarket wheels? Dont make this mistake...
In case anyone was wondering and want a more aggressive wheel setup.
Two piece wheels. Front: 19x9.5 +5 offset - stock tires PS4S Rear: 20x11 +8 offset - 305/30/20 Toyo r555 Was worried that the 305s would fit but they do perfectly. Unfortunately, the front wheels hit on the brake caliper so I have to go up to a 20 inch wheel in the front. So if you plan on running two piece wheels, just know that the inner barrel is too small on a 19 inch wheel. After realizing that the front wheels don’t fit, I called VT Forged and without question offered to send out two new 20 inch front wheels free of charge. Pretty solid company if you ask me. That would make sense. When I ordered my Vossens, they had already researched the sizing and fitment and told me what would fit and sizes to get. I was told 20×11 rears with a 295/30/20 or 305/30/20 and 20x9.5 fronts with 275/30/20. |

Very nice looking wheels!! I would’ve also thought that front spec would clear the calipers given the smaller offset compared to stock (+5 vs +20) but I guess it also has to do with amount of concavity that would allow it to clear the caliper

It actually clears the front of the caliper. It’s the top, bottom and the bolts that connect the caliper to the hub.

They aren't that sticky, maybe a touch better than the PS4S. The 555R2s are the ones you want. I had an order in for months on the R2s and NT05s but Nitto has had production issues. They are both backordered with no eta (Nitto told me it might not be until 2024). The R888s dont come in 305/30/20, only 305/35/20 and those wont fit according to Vossen. |

If you are looking for traction at a reasonable price (i.e similar to the Michelin Cup 2 tyres at 60% of the price), the Nankang AR-1s are available in 305/30-20. Stickier than the R888Rs once warmed up.

I looked at them however they are designed for track (as are the Cup 2s) and not as much as a sticky (barely) compliant drag radial. Track designed tires have a stiffer sidewall compared to drag radials. Also, price is not that much cheaper. Only 10% less than Cup 2s. I went with the Atturo AZ850DRs. Super sticky and at $325 a tire, the price was more than right. |

I agree the Nankangs are a top choice for track use. Here in the US, I can get the AR1s for $478 ea free shipping or Cup 2s at $540 ea free shipping. The Nitto NT01s are a great track tire, too...but backordered. The best drag radial are the 555R2s, better than the 888s. In the size I need, one is backordered and one isn't made in the size. The RE71Rs are not in the same league. I even looked into M&H drag radials (I ran their slicks on my Maverick Grabber in Gainesville...12.5 to 1, 550 solid lift, custom heads with oversized Chevy valves).but they are also backordered. |

Those are track tires, and not very good ones (and for shits and giggles dont even come in my size). If I want a track tire, I have plenty of options. For street drag radial, that is the issue (and shortage in needed size). Track tires and drag radials are very much different tires. I am not concerned about tire life, no drag radial (or true track tire) has a lot of life. However, burning through a set of PS4Ss cause they dont have the grip under the power load will not give a lot of life, either (plus wont perform well). |

Happen to know the inner diameter of the 19” wheel now? I’m trying to spec a winter wheel/tire combo and that info would be great to have. |

I’ll have to measure it. But it shouldn’t be an issue unless you’re trying to run two piece wheels.
