Has anyone received the new update 07/2023/xx over the air so far ?

I got it today. Haven't driven it yet.

Should we be expecting any significant improvements?

I got it today too. It resets all bimmertech codes. Some of them cannot be reverted back. Lots of messages regarding this. Please search the forum.

You guys must be some of the first to get it, I don't think anyone has reported it before. I would have thought they would have waited until late sept/oct to release it.

No, the OTA to upgrade 8 to 8.5 is scheduled for September.

No problem. They just sent out another round, I got it in my M340i on Saturday. Maybe one day I will get it on the X5.
