OMG...it is Billie. I've only seen stills from this session...w. Gerry Mulligan,
Ben Webster. Incredible. It's so unfortunate that jazz is almost unknown to most young people when it is so damn cool and that it seems to be dissappearing as an everyday experience except in NYC and Europe. The video is astounding. Thank You Hugo. |

Somewhere in the dungeon is some vinyl with Billie Holliday singing on it. Of course that was a kinescope recording (possible) from back in the days when TV was actually worth watching. The lighting was truly spectacular - and the camera work spot on. And to think stuff this good and better was standard fare in primetime. Good gawd have we gotten so dumb that clowns like Bob Saget are the best we can do? ; -)
