it's arrived!!
The 50e has arrived!!
500km in and no issues so far! Knock on wood! Initial thoughts: Negatives - the lack of comfort access In back is going to drive me NUTS - Car play is very finicky even on the 8.5 - AC is too loud Positives: - ride is AMAZING. Air suspension is fantastic, arguably smoother than the Cayenne I had test driven. - car looks so so good at night with the lights. Highly recommend the M Pro Package - the power is quite impressive. Much more than I expected - extremely comfortable and spacious interior. So far the best SUV when it comes to that - out of 80% charge (dealer recommended I not go past that if I don’t need) I get about 71km which is more then I expected! - for the v6 hybrid, the engine sounds A LOT better then I expected - Driver assistance works pretty great. Needs some work in construction areas however |

Congrats and looks great! As you're based in Canada, I'm curious, did you ask them to include the m logo by the charging port as part of your build? I've noticed it's there for euro builds but are removed for north america

[QUOTE=jpw172;30440112]In terms of AC turn the fan to low or very low makes a difference.
It does for sure. But when you get into a burning hot car and need to turn it up to medium it sounds like a jet running inside haha |

[QUOTE=Jasdha;30440232]This is true. It was 90 here and humid the other day, I had it in low and 68 and cooled down pretty fast. My Audis in the past on auto were also not super quiet until the car cooled down.

Congratulations. Your X5 looks great.
Regarding the AC loudness: When you first start your car, the AC starts extra high to cool down the car to your set temperature. You are right. It is very loud. After a few minutes it settles down and runs much quieter. My ears aren't so good anymore so it's plenty quiet for me. One of the benefits of being hard of hearing. Regarding the engine: In no way am I trying be extra technical with this comment, but since you are a new BMW owner I thought you should know. Your car has an inline 6 cylinder engine, not a V6. BMW does not make V6 engines. BMW is known for its brilliant inline 6 engines and the B58 that is in your X5 is one of the best they've ever made. Enjoy your new ride. |

I have a Tesla Model Y and upgrading/ awaiting the delivery of my 50e.
I would agree, I always keep my Model Y at 80% unless I need the extra charge for longer travel. The battery over 3 years has barely degraded and I think that has something to do with it. |
