MY24 X1 28i Orders, Builds and Deliverys (USA)

I haven't heard of anyone being able to order an MY24 28i yet but we should be getting close since production is rumored to be starting in November 2023. Waiting for the MY24 pricing and ordering guides to become available in addition to the configurator going live (currently only available for the M35).

Feel free to share any details here once ordering becomes available.

I would assume this should start very soon as on the M35 side many 24’s have already gone into production/ finished productions. I’d think they would already be producing 24’s across the X1 line or across all lines.

Checked with my local dealer and no update yet. If the rumor that MY24 production will start in November is correct, then I expect the dealers will start to accept orders by early October.

For those that are planning on ordering a M24 model, what have you heard from your dealer?

Maybe I don't understand but why the importance on waiting for an MY24 and not taking a MY23. Genuinely don't understand, yes there can be changes but as has been shown across the forums this tends to only have things removed and not added.

It's rare in the UK or other geographies that the Model Year order is a focus really.

Yeah a MY is nothing really, we’re not talking about a new model or even a mild facelift. Wierd but kind of makes me wonder what they’re stripping off the car that you can’t see to make a new MY such a factory process? Probably more cost cutting instead of adding 10% to the RRP that infaltionary pressure would probably warrant

In the past it was kinda I'm going to add this or that or enhance things to get sales, today across the range it has just meant options go up and standard spec goes down.

I'm not suggesting or proposing that anyone wait for the new model year for any reason. That's not the purpose of this thread.

I understand the new model year will likely have no significant changes except maybe some omissions as discussed in other threads. The new model year will also likely have a slight price increase.

This thread is intended for folks in the USA that have ordered or plan to order a MY24 vehicle to share information on orders, deliveries and anything else.

and as I said before I wonder what they are stripping off that you cannot see, things that are not spec related. Less sound proofing, slightly lower quality components, less anything to bring down the number of processes etc etc. They will view that as better than another large shock to the cost new and in this high inflationary environment you can bet they are all doing this.

As reported here, even the MY23 models ordered in July have arrived with reduced options (no M door sill, glove box light etc...). Those stripped options may be important to some owners but it appears that ship has sailed.

That doesn't mean prospective owners shouldn't order a MY24.

.... and I would assume for MY24 they are improving processes, quality and reducing potential bug/issues using data and lessons learned from initial/earlier MY23 production.

If you're in the UK and have already ordered or received a MY23 vehicle then the MY24 changes won't affect you except making your X1 more valuable for resale in future.

Looks like the MSRP for the 2024 X128i will be $40,500 per the update at https://www.bmwusanews.com/newsrelease.do?id=4239&mid=2

Also, xLine design (previously a $500 option) and iDrive9 will be standard on the X1 xDrive28i beginning with November production.

According to this blog, BMW is increasing production capacity in November by adding a 3rd shift to keep up with 2024 X1 production.

Checked with a dealer and assuming SOP (start of production) is still November 2023, 11/23, they expect to have ordering guides available this week. Hopefully the MY24 configurator will also be live this week.

As expected, the MY24 pricing and ordering guides have been published.

It looks like the base price went up but all the other options appear to be the same price except for the premium package which is $100 less.

The options I was considering reflects a $1,300 increase over MY23.

Now that the pricing and ordering guides have been published, the online configurator for 2024 should be active soon.

My local dealer thinks they can start taking orders next week. They just received some X1s in for test drive but it wasn't clear if they were the last of the 2023 models or 2024 M35. The dealership website is only showing 2023 models but the sales rep thought they were 2024. I might drop by tomorrow to verify.

I forgot to post a followup. I did stop by the dealer over the weekend and confirmed the vehicles they had received were MY23 and not MY24. I took one out for another test drive and took the trunk/boot/hatch measurements that I missed taking on an earlier visit. The trunk/boot/hatch opening height and width is similar to our 2014 X1 so any increase in the cargo volume must be from a slightly deeper dimension.

I noticed on the MY24 pricing guide there's an option to order the Active Driver Seat (Lumbar support) for just the driver's seats ($250) as opposed to both front seats ($450).

Hopefully, the online configurator will be active soon.

My local dealer hopes they can start taking orders in the next week which would align with November 2023 start of production but they're waiting for an allocation so fingers crossed.

p.s. The three 2023 X1s that were showing on Saturday are now gone from the dealer web site so I assume they were sold within days of arriving.

November allocations were released about a week ago. If your dealer doesn't have any 24 X1 allocations, look around. They're out there

Thanks. Were those allocations for the 28i or M35? My dealer has had allocations for the M35 since July but not the 28i yet. Do you know which dealers had the allocations last week? Were you able to order a 28i?

New 2024 X1 28i allocations dropped a week or so ago. If your dealer didn't get one, they weren't allocated one. All 2024 X1s are available to order as of now

Thanks. I contacted a nearby dealer and they indicated they have allocations but waiting to confirm that it's for the 28i. If allocations dropped last week, I welcome others to confirm here if they were able to order a MY24 X1 28i

allocations were for November production, which is the start of production of MY24 X1 xDrive28i. NA production model is 24XB while the M35i is 24XC.
