Awesome 230i gas milage
I was really impressed with the mpg traveling this weekend!
It got about 44 mpg in eco mode on the highway over five hours most of the time, but peaked at an 47.8 average. |

I don't seem to be able to access the average speed on my trip computer.
Time, distance, MPG....yes. But no average speed figure. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong. |

That’s really good. When I had an unexpected road trip to Ohio I averaged 40ish MPG.
Which I felt was good considering cruise control was set to 77mph and driving through the mountains of Tennessee and Kentucky. |

My best was 45.3 during a two hour trip in ECO w/ cruise set to mid 70's.
Best range was 503 on a full tank. https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1&postcount=35 I love the fuel economy of the 230. |

My 230i regularly gets 39 mpg (US) cruising on freeways at 70mph for hundreds of miles - ie there are stops and stuff in there too. That's in Sports mode and usually with the sunroof open.
Best I've seen is 41mpg on freeways with a stop-start section part-way, but I think the first bit was ever so slightly downhill :-) - again, Sports mode. I'm really happy with that sort of consumption - plus it's on the cheaper 95 octane instead of 98.

I was able to avg 42.4 over the course of a 500 mi. 250miles up and 250 miles back from NJ to RI, averaging70-75mph for most of the ride. I still have a range of 50 miles showing for the tank of gas which I filled prior to leaving on the trip. I did use Eco Pro for most of the ride, which was a first for me.....Pretty impressed.
Follow-up...... Just an FYI. I filled up at the pump with 515 miles and the car took 12.81 gal, so a calculated mileage of 40.2 MPG for the tank. While the trip computer seems to have been a little optimistic, I'm still very happy with the result. Last edited by wb8164; 10-20-2023 at 04:29 PM.. |
